    5. And the KSA. As you can tell from the scans, despite how bad they are, the medal has been renamed, you can see how thin the edge is. The paper on the ribbon appears to be the original tape the ribbons had attached when issued. Sam.

    8. It's a pity that all the smaller bars are being smashed to bits just to make these 'frack-enstien' bars. Think of all that history, just destroyed for a few bucks, DESPITE the fact they'd probably get more if they sold the original bars seperatly. Sad, really. Sam.
    9. That's one amazing set of medals, i second what Paul said. You should get them mounted and framed along with a picture or two of him. And of course, don't forget the research! Sam.
    10. Nice medal bar and certainly an interesting bit of history. Just curious, why were the different ranks given different ribbons for their medals? Sam.
    11. Does anyone know about the 13th Hussars actions during the Boer war, or where i could find this information? I'm also looking for information on a specific member, Saddler Sergeant Swatton. (Written on medal rim as: 3025 Saddler Sergeant Wm Swatton 13 Hussars) Cheers! Sam.

    16. Thanks darrell! Rick, i think you are probably right. the valour medal is pretty beaten whilst the other three are rather clean, althought that might just be an age issue. sam.
