    1. Very interesting book. Page 5 shows EK2 ribbons in bows. It seems an unusual way of pinning this to the uniform instead of being pushed through the usual button hole...?? I know nothing about the story of this ship but I assume it was sunk and the crew was rescued by a U Boat? Where was this and did the sub return home on the suface?
    2. Interesting thread. Rick, a great photo and wonderful story.
    3. Nice one indeed!
    4. I do not own an eagle with swords but judging by the photo in the post above yours, it seems that the swords could be removed, so is it fair to assume that the previous owner of yours fitted replacements...???
    5. Here's a close up. This is the best I can get.
    6. I have one of these cases and I have not found the right EK2 yet. As per your question, I also found that all the crosses I have, WW1 or 2 do not quite fit "inside" the recess. I have kept the case and hope that one day I will come "across" the right cross....
    7. No retouching, the guy was indeed wearing his GPB when he posed for the photo.
    8. An old thread but I still do not know what the note says. Anyway, thanks for trying Ed.
    9. Very nice
    10. Very nice. I am very envious. Can you show close ups of the star (back and front)
    11. Very nice. I see there is no date on the white star as opposed to the usual Canakale star which has the date in old Turkish.
    12. I have just flicked through my copy of "Osmanli madalyalari ve nisanlari" and cannot find anything like this one!
    13. Welcome to the forum Demir Bey. Interesting cross. Is this yours? Can you post a photo of the back?
    14. Nice one
    15. Thanks Hendrik
    16. Yes please, as this is not my usual area of collecting.
