3 Jurgen Stroop was arrested after the war , convicted and executed In Poland. Joseph Blosche, a notorious perpetrator of excesses carried out during this action, escaped the war and was living in the then East Germany. He was eventually identified by a former Holocaust victim in the 1960's brought to trial and subsequently executed with a bullet through the back of the neck, ironically his own prefered method of dispatching his victims

I attach some of my colourisations, these are what I consider my "best work", unfortunately due to personal circumstances and events, I may no longer be in a position to actively contribute anymore, I will therefore post some of what I have (I have over 1000 of these things) so that they may hopefully be enjoyed by others as much as I have enjoyed doing them., this is the first series and I will post others as and when time will allow. I take this chance of thanking all GMIC members, a forum I consider the best and whilst also a member of other forums, I keep coming back to. Best regards Alex K

Bundesrepublik 2 Bundeswehr Caps
Alex K replied to Leuchtturm's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Gordon, thanks for your comments. at least now it looks like it should, It is a nice hat and apart for the badge in a very good condition, Small size (53) but as a part of a collection, I don't wear them! so it's not a problem, if someone added the badge later, they could have picked the correct one regards Alex -
Bundesrepublik 2 Bundeswehr Caps
Alex K replied to Leuchtturm's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Just an update, I've managed to aquire a Heer badge and replaced the Luftwaffe one, as I mentioned before, there were no additional hole to suggest that it was a replacement badge, fortunately I was able to re-use the original holes for the replacement, so it looks ok. Waffenfarbe, light grey or light blue? I can't decide for myself now!!. with regards to the nice cap posted by Gordon, perhaps viewing the waffenfarbe against the darker cloth colour and the lighter cloth colour is confusing regards Alex K -

Bundesrepublik 2 Bundeswehr Caps
Alex K replied to Leuchtturm's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hello gentlemen, attached are closer images of the waffenfarbe of the cap, is it grey or light blue,(Looks grey to me, but could be light blue!!!), So If I understand correctly, it is a heer cap but with a Luftwaffe badge attached, what branch of Heer would it be? I am confused slightly as I've looked on the outside and inside the cap very carefully and there are no tell-tale signs that the badge has ever been replaced, The prongs go straight through the cap and there are no additional holes. regards Alex K -
Bundesrepublik 2 Bundeswehr Caps
Alex K replied to Leuchtturm's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
I actually have another question concerning BRD headwear. I recently picked up a well preserved Luftwaffe cap, dated 1967, It has light grey piping as opposed to the usual yellow piping normally associated with the Luftwaffe, it is made by Bamberger Mutzen Industrie. The appearance is almost Identical to the Bundesheer cap, (Also made by Bamberger) including the cloth colour, the Luftwaffe insignia appears completely original to the cap, so I assume it is unmessed with, although the cockard has a more "Silvery" than gold look, did the luftwaffe change the style of uniform, including dropping branch colour piping and cloth colour?, if so at what point. regards Alex K Edit, (several hours after some research) could it as an alternative be the Heeresfliegertruppe, which may explain why it has strong similarities to the Bundesheer cap? -

Bundesrepublik 2 Bundeswehr Caps
Alex K replied to Leuchtturm's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi all, I know this is an old posting but reading it I noticed a cap very similar to one I've acquired recently, could anyone give me a time frame when it was made/worn. It is used and named to an Oberst of Kampftruppenschule 1, the cap band looks slightly faded on the photo but in hand is deep black. forgive my ignorance but what exactly is or was a Kampftruppenschule any help appreciated regards Alex K -
Well done, impressive looking piece. Alex K

Is this 1914 Star okay?
Alex K replied to paul kennedy's topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
I see no problem with it regards Alex K -
Hi all, I posted this on another thread but thought I'd post it here as it's clearly a colourisation, Kapitaenleutenant Vallentiner. It is fortunately quite a high resolution image (From Wikipedia) so I was able to get in close to do the finer details regards Alex K

Hi all, just got a new EK1 for the collection so I thought I'd show it. Silver (marked under the pin, lower arm with 800), nice "Blued" core no makers mark, it looks like the previous owner may have cleaned it (But not polished), the burnishing is I think as was made. It is almost identical to one I've owned for many years, image 3, the core and frame look the same, still trying to find the maker of this one also. the last one has a painted core and similar burnishing to the rear, but with patina regards Alex K

Hi Colin, coming on a treat, maybe a stupid question, are you going to paint it? Alex
-
Hi Colin, I'm seriously amazed, great work, look forward to seeing more work in progress Alex K

Hi Colin, that looks great, is it hand crafted by you out of clay? if so, then the likeness to the portrait is amazing. I assume you will eventually paint it, Please post the finished project when complete regards Alex K
