    1. Mike, I have an interesting medal commemorating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Franco-Prussian War. Not necessarilly period made for the event in which you have started this thread, but a beauty in her own right. Patriotic none the less. Sorry to divert you off course a bit. Regards, Joel

    4. Imperial Quest, I must applaud you in the ways in which you have presented your banners. Impressive is an understatement. They look exquisite.
    5. It looks to me as though it is a re-cored Imperial 1914 Cross. Regards, Joel
    6. Bishop, Glad to have you join us on our never ending discovery and pursuit of knowledge in our little hamlet of Militaria collecting! Regards, Joel
    7. Heiko, My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. Hopefully, there will be a quick arrest and your items will be returned to you. Regards, Joel
    8. Here is a picture of one of the Churches in Caen. The results of the fighting and bombing can be seen even today. Please note the lean and crack on the main entrance. Regards, Joel Great pictures Tony!
    9. James, Welcome to the Forum. I as well must confess that I have just a few Japanese Militaria items none of which are related to the medical units. I've got the basics covered right now. I've got a Nambu pistol, Arisaka T-38 Carbine, T-30 Bayonet and last but not least a Rayed Army Flag. Slowly but surely the collection will grow. Regards, Joel
    10. St Mere Eglise. Here is a shot depicting the heroic act of a Paratrooper named John Steele and to this day this little hamlet hasn't forgotten!
    11. While on our Honeymoon, my wife spotted a small Museum right beside the entrance to Omaha Beach. Here is what was in front of the building. The classic German 88MM and what is I believe a PAK 43 with a little camoflage paint remaining! Regards, Joel
    12. The guns have long been silent at the Batterie of Longues...

    18. Daniel, I thank you for the information you have provided me. I probably know the answer already if they were interested in selling it or not. None the less, I'll at least ask and see if it would be possible. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I believe, if my memory serves me well that this one was made in 1916. If I make over that way again I'll be certain to post pictures of course if the permit me to do so. Thank you again. Regards, Joel
    19. Daniel, A fantastic piece of History in your posession. There is a small VFW near where I live that has an a old Maxim on the front lawn collecting rust. I should make an offer on it seeing it is being neglected and underappreciated as to being part of a period of History no one should ever forget. Regards, Joel
    20. Fantastic Collection Barry. Especially love the documents! Regards, Joel
    21. Mike, I thank you as well for your input. Now the researcher within me needs to find out which Pub or Instution the crest represents. Regards, Joel
