    1. Here is my example. It was found at a Silver Souk in Bahrain. It looks quite old, by the patina. Is there anyway to date it? There is writing on the rim as well... It definitely looks as if it has seen a trade route or two!
    2. Here is the only NVA medical item I have(outside of insignia)... I would love to find an academy pin to put on it. Are they easy to find?
    3. Great stuff guys!! No one else have any favorite DDR tunics? Favorite upgrades are OK too!!
    4. Hey Larry, The colors are different. Stassi used a dark wine red. The Civil Defense used the color violet.
    5. Unfortunately, there is nothing on the reverse of the photo. I thought that pilots were officers, during the early days?
    6. Thanks Gordon!!! I was going to give up collecting, if that CT was not original to it!! LOL The wear and ect to all pieces(except for the SB) are so perfect! I will find that other tunic and post it as well. Paul
    7. Another amazing display!! I am amazed at your collection!! Very focused!
    8. Hi Daniel, I do not see any insignia that would place him as an officer candidate. It is possible that I am missing something though.
    9. Your display is utterly amazing!!! :jumping:
    10. There is nothing on the back at all... :- ( Perhaps the dagger privilege came with being a flyer?
    11. This must be the lowest ranking qualified LW pilot I have ever seen!!
    12. 1. I dont think that it is for sale. 2. I have no money! The two pieces would look great together though. Thankfully, I have an active imagination! LOL
    13. I measured the distance from the bottom of the CT to the bottom of the sleeve. I got exactly 5 inches(12.7 cm) I see your point about the firefighter boards. I think that still could be a varient, but the color is very purple instead of the carmine. That is very interesting looking gear, knarf!
    14. Now that one is a first for me!! It is a nice one! I am in awe! It would be a perfect companion for my tunic, posted here.
    15. How much combat time did it take to get a war-time chevron?
    16. Nice image Ed. The first foreign medal is French, right? What are the other three?
    17. It could have been for either... 1. Air Traffic Control Official or 2. Air Traffic Control Officer(regular Luftwaffe) Candidate I would love to see it!! Please post some images!
    18. Hello, Early on, this was the case with the Luftwaffe Music Leaders as well as the Air Traffic Controlers. They wore the EM version of the visor, used in their particular branches, with the officer chin cord. They eventually went to the standard Officer's cap
    19. Rick will love this one!! Can you please post the rest of the tunic as well?
    20. What are the badges!? That is the first time I have seen a male with lipstick in uniform! :speechless1:
