    1. Hi Larry, I am sorry to say that I am looking for the same information as you. I actually learned something from your post!! Here is a thread I set up some time ago, displaying related pieces from my collection. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=17336 Unfortunately, the great information you posted has raised even more questions for me! 1. There were members of the Luftaufsicht who served as officials and others who were members of the regular Luftwaffe! What were the differences in their roles? I assumed that the Officials served in the Civil Airports/facilities while the Regular Luftwaffe Air Traffic Controlmen worked on Luftwaffe Airfields. I do know of the specific(first pattern) insignia mentioned in your cited sources(pea green officials tabs and boards), but their later insignia was also unique by waffenfarbe... perhaps I am confused by wording? 2. The Meteorological Service fell under the Luftaufsicht?!?! Very interesting! Regards Paul
    2. The first photo, the men look like brothers. Very strong resemblence.
    3. I agree! I would have thought that the yellow ones would have been flight related, only to find out that they were for the Fire Dept! Odd indeed!
    4. Amazing photos!!! Ed, I have not seen that many screwbacks concentrated in one photo in a while! BTW, nice hair!
    5. I just received these boards from a friend. They are for an Ordnance Officer in the Luftwaffe. Are there any others out there? If so, lets see them! Paul
    6. Hi! Thank you for the reply. The know tabs of this configuration are for: Dark Green- War Time Official and Specialist Leader Yellow- Fire Fighting Official Pink- Engineering War Time Official/Specialist Leader These are the only three I have ever seen in a reference book. Now... There are a few more that are apparently unreferenced that I have seen myself. Wine Red Blue Black(in a friend's collection). This goes to show that there are many unexplained areas of militaria still out there. I am still assuming that they are medical related, but I do not know for sure. Regards Paul
    7. Wow Ricky!! Congratulations!! This is awesome! How much are the CDs? Paul
    8. I am just now seeing these... I have never seen another set in it's glory like these. Congratulations! Can we see the backs please!?
    9. I am preparing for my three year stint away from home. My wife is insistent that I thin out a bulk of my collection to free up some space. I have about 60 DDR tunics I decided I could live without. Is there any interest in these tunics anymore? I am thinking about posting them all on Ebay for a dollar and let the economy do the rest. Advice? Paul
    10. Very interesting pieces! I will move them to the SS section of the forum, for more exposure!
    11. There are people who collect those as a focus!
    12. I really like those boards a lot! I would love to find a complete and untouched TSD tunic someday!
    13. I knew that he had a pilots badge, but I never knew that he flew combat missions! Did he have any aerial victories? Is this how he got is 39 EK2?
    14. It is the first mounted example I have seen! Thank you for posting it!
    15. Thanks for the clarification on the insignia, Chief. I would have never guessed it was a Maritime Service piece.
    16. I have not seen too many TR bars in that configuration!
