    1. An SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer from the Das Reich Division will be very expensive. It scares me to think of the price with that one!
    2. For the Luftwaffe, Goring had to pretty much force people into the senior positions. These men were not treated well by Goring or the "party". They were asked to provide miracles with no support. If the succeeded, they were "doing their jobs", if they failed, they were treated very poorly. Goring often surrounded himself by the younger officers who distinguished themselves in the earlier campaigns of the war, taking their advice over that of the more experienced and disciplined GS officers. This caused a lot of problems for the Luftwaffe later in the war.
    3. I just completed reading the book that Nieson wrote on the Luftwaffe General Staff. It was translated by the US Air Force and published as some sort of training aid. It actually has the word "Declassified" stamped onto each page. There are many very interesting tidbits of information in the book. It was very interesting to see that it was specifically noted that Goring felt that the General Staff members were little more than errand boys and intentionally avoided awarding them decorations. HG felt that decorations should go to people who actually fought and purposefully declined award recommendations for General Staff members. That is why the seperate carmine waffenfarbe(and striped trousers) were so important to many members.
    4. Unfortunately, I dont think that we are allowed to have them done like this anymore... I would pay the money to have mine done in this manner, if allowed!
    5. That is a beautifully done uniform!! I love the embroidered insignia!
    6. It is great to see you! It was nice corresponding with you over the past year!! You have a great collection!
    7. Any stamp marks on the inside? From what I can see, it looks like it is OK. Are the fixures present for the shoulder insignia? Any evidence of prior collar tabs and eagle?
    8. Most beautiful!! Are you the one who won it off Ebay a couple of years ago? I remember missing this one!! If you ever decide to part with it...
    9. Muy interesante!!! I did not know that they were making export medals at that time!!
    10. Jan, That visor is great condition! It looks like an early example too!! Congrats on such an uncommon visor!!
    11. Hi! I am sorry for the delay! Please bear in mind that after March1943(Anzio started in Sep43, if I am not mistaken), the HG division reflected the member's speciality on their shoulder straps only(Plain white collar tabs for everyone). The possible pipings for the shoulder straps were: Red- arty Pink- Panzer Orange- Field Police(after 03Jun1943) Yellow- Recon Golden Brown- Signals Black- Pioneer Light Blue- Supply/Field Police(between 02Apr1943 and 03Jun1943) White- Grenadier Regt
    12. Is there any way to blow up the images a bit on the scanner?
    13. Gary, Can you make a closeup of the violet nebenfarbe? I would still like to see it!
    14. Dave, I would love to see anything on the topic that you can post! If the article is yours I would not think it would be copyright infringement, would it?
    15. I bet that the KM NCO lightweight tunic in frame 81 would be scoffed at if it appeared on a militaria website today!! Very unique photo!!
    16. Is there any photographic evidence of Soviet decorations being awarded to American Servicemen during WW2? I am not talking about the 1985 commemorative medal, either.
    17. I like the visor cap a lot!! Did you bring back the entire nations militaria stockpile?
    18. Woodeye, Thank you for sharing this most desirable set! Can you please show some close up images of the shoulder boards and the eagle? I am in love with this tunic!!
    19. I would be scared to try and treat it. I would be afraid of damaging it. It is a wonderful piece. Thank you for sharing it!! Paul
