    1. That sucks. I wonder why this would go away? Does someone have to have a paid subscription to host videos?
    2. Very interesting article. That paper is in great condition for being almost two hundred years old! Great stuff.
    3. In this case I would agree to the award being issued for the victims. The Major is an enemy operative who took orders from Al Queida, an enemy that we are in combat operations against. Timothy McVeigh was not.
    4. Looks like it is the unit's presentation example. I would be interested to see the medal that was given to him(in the case). It may be like that intentionally so that it does not "walk off".
    5. It is pretty cool looking though. Could it be a military university patch?
    6. I have had this happen actually more than the time described above. I have a really cool 560K ORB that has come back with negres as well. So people pay big bucks for the documents without the awards? It is time to get some volunteers over there to electronically preserve these items.
    7. The patch with the green triangle in post 162 look very much like a rebirth of a Republican Guard type unit(traditional unit)?
    8. OK. I was able to read up on the topic of the American Defense Medal Clasps. The only one allowed by the Coast Guard was the one for "Sea". The Navy allowed for various other clasps. Since his rate both in the Navy and Coast Guard were aviation based, he may not have been on sea duty during that time in the Navy, but qualifed for one of the other clasps(Foreign Duty). When he transferred to the Coast Guard, the only clasp that would have been allowed to carry over would be a sea service(Vessel) clasp, so he may have lost the right to wear it when he switched services. Also, I remember seeing somewhere that other service Good Conduct Medals were not allowed to be worn on uniform unless they were from the same service. I will have to see when this rule was changed. This may explain for the missing Navy Good Conduct Medal.
    9. Yeah... that is the way they posted it on Ebay. LOL Do you have a better example to post?
    10. It is an Iraqi Popular Army insignia set. I have been trying to find this patch forever now. .
    11. Epay!! They were listed as something that would not normally be searched when looking for these. I really love the embroidery work on the patch and hope to find a better example in the future. I am just happy to have found this one and at such a cheap cheap price. I would parallel it with finding an original DKiG in cloth for 30 dollars.
    12. Oh. I read in the Bender book that the authorized clasps were different for the Coast Guard than for the Navy. I will have to take a look at that again.
    13. It does not look like any of the stars from his ribbon bars made it onto the medal bar. That would have been an easy thing for a counterfeiter to add too. Either the medal bar was made early on in his CG career or he really did not care too much about them. I know a lot of people in these days who did not care enough to add stars and etc to their large medals.
    14. That is a great collection of medals. Which ones belong to your dad?
    15. I have never seen the Order of the White Elephant on a German bar! Talk about cool. I bet there is no problem in IDing this one, is there?
