    1. They appear to be a nice set of Smoke troops tabs!! Nice rare find! Regards Paul
    2. Thanks for posting the comparative photos. They do look like a perfect match. Do the filler strands glow under your black light? Hi Gary, As far as I know, Nylon will always glow. These threads do not glow at all. Regards Paul
    3. Here is my contribution to this area... What is your take on the LW sword? Also, has anyone seen the "W" maker mark like the one seen on the fighting knife? Also, is the knife a Heer or Luftwaffe type? Regards Paul
    4. While it does appear to be a bit different, I would not be too quick to call it a fake. Does anyone know anything about these being repro'ed?
    5. Seven Months later... I do not know anything about SS insignia, yet based upon what I know of Luftwaffe tabs, materials, and effects of aging on cloth... it seems to be OK to me. Did you get it? Paul
    6. Don, That is one beautiful piped tunic!!! Thanks for sharing it with us!!! PAul
    7. Larry, Did you get these in yet? What is your determination on the waffenfarbe? PAul
    8. Hi Paul, I do not know much about eagles, but from everything I know about them, it seems to be a good one. The edelwiess is definately a good one... I would guess that 35 dollars would be a great price for it(retail). Regards Paul
    9. Paul, I too feel like it should be worth more than 150 dollars!!! Original paint, liner and chin strap??!?! Stripped shells go for more than that! I would guess that a conservative price would be double that! IMHO, the decal adds a bit of history! I bet that these will be rarer than WW2 double decal helmets as I am sure that people will do their best to remove the decal. Awesome helmet!
    10. Hi Juan, I know that this is a bit belated, but congrats on reuniting this special grouping!!!
    11. Hi! Gary, I did hit the tab with a black light and the tab did glow with an orangish tint... which is OK. The piping underlay/base thread seems to glow a little(blueish tint). Despite this, I am not turned off as some things(especially some threads) did glow. The General Staff board did not glow at all. However, some of my engineer board did glow. Larry, Here are some close ups of the piping. Notice the black threads... It seems that it was removed from a tunic.
    12. From the photos present, what gives this set away? I would have thought this to be an awesome non combattant bar!!
    13. Thanks Daniel! I can hardly wait for them to arrive so that I can evaluate them in hand. Regards Paul
    14. The thing I do not like about it so far is the piping. It does not seem to be the standard style. I do like the feel, look, and smell of it as a whole. I know that black lights are not to be used exclusively to determine authenticity, yet I will hit the tab with the light when I get home. I will try my best to photograph it and post the photo.
    15. I have just received the tab today. The seller was kind enough to send them to me before I paid to determine whether I liked them or not. As we can see, it is definately carmine. I have the tab next to a Luftwaffe General Staff officer tab for comparison.
