    1. DDD777- very well done summary of this award. it is the only TR award that comes close to matching my interest in the EK, and one of the few that conjures up the "breast star" style of heraldry from earlier eras. joe
    2. there are MANY different LV marked variations in terms of numbers accompanting the LV stamp. don't have my list with me... LV is a relatively rare MM. joe

    12. most trench photos evoke boredom or terror or misery or carnage.... these evoke dispassionate, methodical planning and reemphasize to me the grand scale of the lack of thought for the lowest common denominator - the trooper. eerie. joe
