    1. That bigger bar is very interesting, must have belonged to a Turkish national?
    2. I like it, interesting combo. Difficult to ascertain whether an officer's or NCO's bar.
    3. As stated, these are a bit of a major minefield. There are aspects of this example that I like, and others that I don't.
    4. Agreed, nice Feldschnallen. Regarding the first one, it was apparently against statutes to wear the civil Kriegsverdienstkreuz with military decorations. I have a medal bar which also has this apparent faux pas.
    5. LOL, amazing family resemblance amongst those guys. Makes it very confusing figuring out who was who.
    6. Thanks Waldo, this is what I suspected. Do you think it should be an earlier Schnalle-type or a later medal?
    7. I've swapped out the MVO, so hopefully this is a more likely combo. Any ideas on which LSD belongs? Possibly one of the small Schnallen?
    8. That's great, another example of the maxim 'es ist eine kleine Welt'.
    9. If this is the one on fleabay, that ribbon is for a commander's grade and is, I believe, a modern copy.
    10. That's a great photo, and I agree, it's certainly Model.
    11. Absolutely, I think staying away from crowds, especially indoors, is key.
    12. The difference between covid victims and WW1 gas victims is that most victims of the virus are elderly with pre-existing health issues, whilst those gassed in the great war were healthy young men. Not a useful comparison.
    13. Hi Waldo, You're probably right, as the LS medal in the last position when I got the bar was from the WW1 period and only for 9 years, so I assumed it wasn't correct. The EK was on the bar.
    14. That's quite a list of awards, but you usually only see him wearing the ribbon of the EK.
    15. I acquired this medal bar from a fellow member many years ago, so long now that I forget his name. It was missing the MVO and had a spurious LSD in the last place, so I fitted a 1905 MVOmdK and an officer's LSD. I'm not sure if this combo is possible, but I think it's a nice looking bar.
    16. What are the dimensions? Looks a bit like a converted buckle.
    17. Getting back to Richthofen, many writers have claimed that he was declined for the MMJO due to being a non-Bavarian, but of course this is nonsense when one reviews other recipients.
    18. Very nice items Claudio. Of course it's always depressing to see Nachlaesse being split up.
    19. Very impressive Feldschnalle in great condition. I also trained as an archaeologist, so always cool to catch up on the exploits of the past.
    20. Without a photo that's going to be tough, could be an unofficial item from a Schuetzenverein or the like.
