    1. I have a Patent issued to a Carl Christian von Watter, appointing him as a Second-Lieutenant in the Unruh'schen Infanterie Regiment in 1797. I believe he died in the 1830's, but if anyone has more information on this fellow, it would be much appreciated.
    2. I think this RAO is one of the 'funky chicken' fakes we have seen a few years ago.
    3. I agree completely with Sascha, not original Jubilaeumszeichen. I have only ever found a couple of real ones, so you have to be careful.
    4. Orange-Nassau was similar, but I think had a white stripe on the edge as well. I really like this bar.
    5. That is the nicest grouping I have seen in years. Hopefully a rich, philanthropic collector will keep it all together.
    6. I think the jeweler ran out of stock on the ribbon halfway through, and used a piece from a different stock, explaining the different UV reactions.
    7. I have to agree with Sascha, the style of mounting is not good, the ribbons look modern, and the pin assembly on the back is not confidence inspiring.
    8. What can one say, except absolutely outstanding items, Sandro. Are the decorations filler pieces, or did they also come from the wearer's of the tunics?
    9. Jim, the pin on the pilot badge is strange, very wide, but it could be a period replacement. I'd like to see a picture of the obverse. I'd say the SAO2mS is a good one, and if you could post a picture of the autographed photo, that would be great.
    10. You did very well on the mini, Dan. The ones from this maker are much scarcer than the Godet ones.
    11. The colors of the Schwarzburg cross seem a little too yellow, normally these are orange and blue, but maybe it's just the light. Also, the SEHO is turned back to front. Do you have a shot of the back?
    12. Incredible Kettchen, Rudi. There is a Spanish Order of Isabella the Catholic on there also.
    13. Rudi, very outstanding group. I have a real soft spot for groups with foreign decorations, and this one is great.
    14. I have been informed on another forum that the markings on the bottom are for the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich, and date it post 1853 due to the arrow marking on the bottom. I would have guessed a somewhat earlier date?
    15. Mike, thanks for confirming my hunch. I'm assuming these date from the age of sail? Also, would the numbers on the bottom of the bucket be useful in determining the type of shot?
