I think te bar is completely legit, just a bit "overprussian" to put the KDM 70 in fromt of a WM3. BUT when somebody worries for the WM3, in this case I?m very sure this old recalled guy replaced his 1870 WM3 (old model with crown on the top and the plain blue ribbon) by a "modern one" in the syle of 1914(18. Best regards Daniel P.S. for Rick, I heard the WM3 Roll which will come out have more than "just" Moser in it.

nononononononononono! Just around 80 knights with lions awarded and You want to see one? For zinc relations You speak about something rarer than a EK knights cross with oaks and swords!!! Seriously, I have no real one; I know Werner Nickel has a "normal knight" on a Medal bar. I can just show You some of my 5 ribbon bars with this cross. Best regards Daniel

Hi David, Up to I think 1849 the Order was called Civil-Verdienstorden, then it was only Verdienstorden. How is the book organized? Orders by class, then by date, then by alphabetic order of the bearers. Stupid and bored people like me digitalize this and use the simple search function. Best regards Daniel

Imperial Russia ranking of russian orders
Daniel Krause replied to David M's topic in Russia: Imperial
George and Wladimir were always out of the line and not included in the "upgrade system". ranking was: Andrew Newski White Eagle St.Anna Stanislaus Normally a Russian one made all the way through the classes. It came mostly for foreigners; if they got initially for example a Newski they got automatically the White Eagle, St.Anne 1st and Stanislaus 1st. So the Newski was worn on the sash, White Eagle around the neck, St.Anna in the Buttonhole and Stanislaus on the Medal bar. Best regards Daniel -
I did not find any source mentioning that it is not possible to get all 3 flower war medals. But it is indeed in the Doehle, that holders of a flower war medal could not get a Schutzwallehrenzeichen. Anyway; I can imagine that just a small bunch of high ranking people could have "won" all 3 of them. Best regards Daniel

Hit! Hit! Hit! Otto von Strahl, born Berlin 24.10.1847, long years Adjutant, Royal Hofmeister, Kammerherr and Hofmarschall of HRH the Landgraf von Hessen und bei Rhein, Major z.D., alive 1908 in Philippsruhe- Kesselstadt in Hessen- Nassau. I checked whole 1880, no other one comes close to him: KO4, EK2, DD3, HP3aX, SLVM, RA3, EH3bX, WF3a, he received the missing AB3a, MK3 and RW4 until 1888 ? so a 100% match to this bar!!! He added later a AB2b, BM2, BZ2a, HP2a, OV2a, RAO3Kr, KO2, Cent, EH2bX, WF2b, DD2a, RSt1 Any questions?!?!? Daniel

Croatia Unknown Ribbons (Croatian?)
Daniel Krause replied to landsknechte's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
I would not say Japan, better fits a Croatian Order of King Zwonimir on peacetime ribbon. Best regards Daniel -
Schie?platzmeisters bar is also the 1st one I see with the Schwarzburg oakleaves!!! There were just a few awards of them!!! Heiko?s bar is a hit!!! I will see if I can dig out a bit. Actually, there were pleeenty of old retired guys which were NOT listed in the ERL 1926!! Rick, You remember Bavarian Freih.v.Enderndorf?!? ... adn I found now lots more of retired and recalled LtCol or Col while looking for a Baden combo. Heiko, I will see what I can do but it might cost a time.. orr our database superheroes like Andy Baus of Werner Nickel have this combo already saved in their PC. Best regards Daniel

Hi Rick, Your Prussian wearing the SA3aXKr CAN ONLY BE a Mr. Kramer, more boring name I did not find. In 1914 Hauptmann der Landwehr in LwB Frankfurt / Main, received SA3aXKr 15.12.1915 as Major der Landwehr and Cdr. ArmierungsBtl 21, peacetime KO4 and LD1. There were only a veeeery few SA3aXKr to dR / dL / dRaD / dLaD types and I could rule out all the others for different reasons. Best regards Daniel

Hi guys, here my humble contribution: It came with a small note that it belonged to Air Commodore T.J.Master, Defense and Air Atach?e; nothing more... Is there a way to proof it? Best regards Daniel

Style is M1915, still no EK and the Bulgarian CVO... I think either a Reserve or Landwehr guy or a Doc. I did not find a single active or a la suite Officer apart of comrade Zei?, the head of the Marstall with a BC. Still some hundred pages to check in the 1914 list..... But maybe it turns out like with Graf Holnstein that he disappeared in 1905, 1908 or whenever from the listings and coming back a aD officer.... Time will bring it. But this combo is unique and WILL be IDd. Best regards Daniel
