      What is this medal

If my memory serves me right it was minted somewhere between November 1906 and January 1907. Original line drawings Best, Nick
    2. Unfortunately pilot badge is a replica. As for the pin - whithout the inscriptions it`s impossible to tell what it is.
    3. This piece belong to 1940+ time period. Silver kanji are typical for WW2 time period.
    4. Yes, it is certainly japanese made piece. Best, Nick
    5. Modern made mixture of order of rising sun with paulounia leaves and order of sacred treasure. Most likely unofficial commemorative badge of some organization. Without the original case (if there is one in existence) - unidentifiable.
    6. This army officer (most likely captain) is wearing order of the rising sun 5th or 6th class. Could be a graduate from german/austrian military school. Another possibility - assistant military attache.
    7. I think the new thread is a good idea
    8. Glad you liked it. Ishiguro Tadanori (he also has double dragon) and russian St.Stanislaus. Check out this double dragon sash
    9. Nice pick up but quality of photos is quite terrible. Mini and medal are milky and blurred. I don`t think so. Even the ribbons are different As for the inscription Made by lacquerware workshop Kobayashi, Tokyo Stay cool Mickey.
    10. After war fire brigade badge. Issued in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of municipal fire service.
    11. Yes, looks like all the names are there. Although they are sound something like Joruju Antowānu etc Regarding the number of the japanese doc - as for today no database is available for futher research. Best, Nick
    12. Yes, I know Patrick I was talking about number of japanese doc 3 381. Japanese docs issued for foreigners have special separate numbering system. The number on french athorization doc 31 212 Regards, Nick
    13. Very interesting article about Georges de Tressan by Minami Asuka that was published 8 years ago in Arts Asiatiques Source. Arts Asiatiques Année 2010, 65 pp. 167-180
    14. Great! The number of this doc is only 3 381 (this is a special numbering for foreign recipients).
    15. Thanks! Superb group! Did you check rising sun for marks (at the rim including the part of the sun rim that is hiding under suspension leaf)? Will it be ok with you if I`ll show your group to our russian colleagues? Regards, Nick

Yep, looks like you are right. 天正九 = 1581 So it couldn`t be Ichihara Nagamitsu. 長光道 can be read as Nagamitsu Michi. This fragment looks like 光定 - Kōjō (?)

Looks like this sword was made by Ichihara Nagamitsu (1886-1960). See https://www.japaneseswordindex.com/naga.htm 長光道 where 長光 - Nagamitsu 道 - most likely from 剣道 - kendō/way of the sword
    19. Nice sacred treasure. It was made by Osaka Mint in 1930s.
