    1. Interesting, Army Music Superintendents (Heeresmusickinspizienten) had a crimson nebenfarbe , and only had a high grade career (höherer Dienst). The tabs were worn by HV members at the start of the TR as a carry over from what I can find out Dave Sutter has a nice set for Justiz Beamte just down from the top of page 12 here; http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12721&page=12 I know its WAF however I have never seen another set till this picture. Musician eh...... Thanks Rick Larry
    2. Ummmm.....been enjoying what passes for summer up here. Cooped up inside 8 months out of the year, no wonder I am vitamin D deficient. My daughters getting married in a week, and I have been watching the bank account hemorrhage money....kinda like an old gas meter......ding, ding, ding, ding, ding...she has some wedding coordinator with some kind of French name and a lisp. Apparently not only does he have a "Champagne" taste, he seems to come with a "Champagne" budget. She gets divorced after this I'll shoot her....LOL Your not helping any Paul So ok enough of that,,,,are there any lists to the Order of Military Merit Commander's Cross from Bulgaria? Here's another one. Hermann Schmid in 1935 . He is not "White" career, nor do I think he is "Back" either though I could be wrong there. Could be "Red". or an educator in the "Brown" trade...... Any thoughts? Sincerely Larry P.S. Truly nice to see you back Rick. You have been missed
    3. Have you checked this place out? He is a reputable dealer. http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Covers/Italiancover.html Larry
    4. Very nice. This would be Russian? What would it typically be awarded for? Larry
    5. Very nice work, as usual I love the way you shade the bust't 850 Newfounlanders clambered out of their trenches - a mile or so behind the front lines as well - on that day at Beaumont Hamel, only 69 answered roll call the following morning......... Looking forward to your next installment Larry
    6. Hello Captain Albert Interesting bars and history. As it is not my area of expertise....could you explain what exactly is missing please? Many thanks Larry
    7. Hello It has King George III's monogram on the barrel so it is the correct time period. From what I have found out the 27 - 3 - 12 are not dates but weight indicators. The 27 equals 27 hundred weight or 3024 lbs, the second number indicates "quarter hundred wieghts" or in this case 3/4 which is 84 lbs and the last number is 12 lbs. So upon manufacture this barrel weight 3120 lbs. As to manufacture, short of a makers mark it would be hard to tell. Here is a link to British barrel history http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_Quarter Hope this helps some Larry
    8. Hello From what I have read on the other forums it is an early or pre war an emergency outfit for downed aircrew. There is some debate on the eagles found on these, not that the one posted is not original. Just wether they were used on the suits or not. Thanks for sharing an unusual and rarely seen piece of kit. Larry
    9. Hi Drew I am not quite sure what you want to build.....do you mean inserting a speaker in a model? Would this be to emit sound effects or as a stereo speaker? :cheers; Larry
    10. Hello Looks like a good one to me. From my end it appears to be a zinc made one with a good ribbon. Nice catch :cheers; Larry
    11. Hello Paul Very nice. What did the USCG RAID teams do? Larry
    12. Here is a couple links in German: http://www.kiel.de/leben/friedhoefe/nordfriedhof/marine/yorck.php http://www.marinekameradschaft-horumersiel.de/yorck.html Not sure if you have already seen them....... Larry
    13. First off it was awesome to see you here....even if it was a short visit. Very nice to see you A teaser for you.....a Feldpost Oberrat Athens 1941 with the Order of Military Merit Commander's Cross from Bulgaria Please drop by often Larry
    14. How intersting. The Glosters won the Presidential Unit Citation at the Battle of the Imjin River. While..... ...........25 miles further to the east, other Chinese forces were involved in an attack on UN forces which included 27 Commonwealth Brigade. That battle became known as the Battle for Kapyong, where this vetran fought as indicated by his Presidential Unit Citation, for holding off the Chinese after calling a "Danger Close" Fire mission. What this means is you are calling for fire on top of your own trenches to avoid being overrun...... Larry
