Christophe Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Historically but aesthetically .Ed,I disagree with you on this one. I find these plastic medal bars quite aesthetic... (as soon as they are not worn on the uniform, where they maybe look less attractive...).Ch.
Guest Rick Research Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 And now that last one has been rescued from the clutches of Evil Ricky and is now safe at MY house forever and ever. [attachmentid=38259]I've been lusting after this one ever since it first passed over my Epson. And now it's mine. All mine! Research, of course, is inevitable-- if only to find out EXACTLY what sort of person BOUGHT a mounting like this!
Stogieman Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Selling this to him seemed a small consolation to me snoring in his office while he made scans.......
paddywhack Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 i reckon(and its only me now) that the reason these are for the most part missing there medals is cos the owners might have dicede that going back to the normal ribbions and toke the medals off the plastic ribbions! still very nice all thje same!!
Gerd Becker Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 (edited) I got this one today. When i received it, i noticed, that the 20 years LS Medal is an early silver piece a nice ebay-bargain for 24 Euro including shipping Edited March 14, 2007 by Gerd Becker

Gerd Becker Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 (edited) Thanks, guys. Glad, you like it as much as i do Although the 15 years Red Star is obviously missing from this group, i was quite happy, that i go it. Edited March 14, 2007 by Gerd Becker
Guest Rick Research Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Ahhhh, the VERY fragile "plastic sheet" type, made out of old garden watering cans. Here's mine:http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4974...;hl=Kuz'minGiven how brittle these are, they don't show up very often. I wonder if they were soft and flexible when they were new, but 50 years age hasn't been kind to them. I don't look like I did in 1958 either.

Couldn?t find that thread, otherwise i would have posted there. This one is in nice condition, just two small aeras of damage on the first and the last ribbon. If just the Red Star would be with it, then i could research it But still, its a lovely bar, exspecially with the Type 1 LS-Medal.Gerd
Gerd Becker Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Nice one, baibai. If you ever want to sell this one, please keep me in mind.Gerd
Sal Williams Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 PLASTIC!!!??? You crazy traitors to the fatherland! Everybody seems to be going commie on me!!!!
Guest Rick Research Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Just hedging our bets, Comraid. Here's another one:Captain Aleksei Ivanovich Gulyaev of 241st Corps Tank Exterminating Regiment, attested 1 September 1955:Victory Over Germany and 1948 Jubilee are custom painted solid plastic, but the improperly positioned last Military Merit Medal for 10 years service is normal single suspension cloth ribbon, for a Mix And Match effect:Rather slapdash on the VOG stripes, eh?
Gerd Becker Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Grrrreat picture, Rick Sal, who did just buy a Red Star???
Gerd Becker Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 (edited) Here is another nice ribbonbar with Defense of Caucasus and Defense of Polar Region Medals. The 25 years Victory badge is painted in black-golden color. Can someone help with ribbon Nr. 9? Edited April 16, 2007 by Gerd Becker
Gerd Becker Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 And one with Order of Lenin, Red Banner of Labor, Red Star, OPW2nd class (precedence?), Caucasus-Medal and Valorous Labor in GPW. Looks like this one is handpainted, very nicely done.
Gerd Becker Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Next one is a 4 place ribbonbar with MMM, Caucasus (what else?) VoG and 30 years soviet Army&Navy.
Gerd Becker Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Here is a 3 place bar with plastic ribbons seperately attached like the normal ribbons.
Gerd Becker Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 And the last one for now is a simple 5 place bar with Victory over Germany medal, 20 years Victory, 30 years Victory, 60 years Armed Forces and 25 years Victory badge(i suppose). This one has an interesting construction, as if the rows of ribbons are single pieces.
