LarryT Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Fantastic photos Odulf! Here are two more 2cm Flak 30 photos, both taken at Bolchov, 1942. Cheers, Larry
Jock Auld Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Guys,A small Flak wedding photo album from the week end. It was only 5 so I took a punt since you don't see period colourised pictures that often.
Paul R Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Larry, I like the group photos a lot. It is great to see the low enlisted with more bling than the officer and senior NCOs. Jock, great wedding album. Are those all of the photos, or are there more? What badge is the groom wearing on his fliegerbluse?
Odulf Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) What good is Flak without a searchlight when darkness has fallen? Light Luftwaffe searchlight unit on the move on the Western Front. Does any one recognize the Truppenzeichen on the lorries? Edited December 31, 2014 by Odulf
Odulf Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Fantastic photos Odulf! Here are two more 2cm Flak 30 photos, both taken at Bolchov, 1942. Cheers, Larry Very nice Larry, these tainted glass goggles must have made some impression, because I see these frequently on photos - worn as characteristic additional equipment.
LarryT Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks Guys, much appreciated. Here is another series from the album. Caption says: "Vormarsch Mingsts - Briangst." I guess that translates as "Advance from Minsk to Briansk." Photos show scenes of recent fighting with burning villages, villages being bombed, vehicles and troops of Flak Rgt. 11 waiting until bombing is over before moving on. Cheers, Larry
Paul R Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 That is a killer photo. The Flak and Close Combat badge is always an impressive combination.
LarryT Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Thanks guys, much appreciated. Here is a photo showing reversible quilted winter jackets being worn. Obergefreiter Arthur Haschem is in the middle. Photo taken at Orel. Cheers, Larry
LarryT Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Members of Flak Rgt. 11 share a joke. Obergefreiter Haschem is at right. Cheers, Larry

Jock Auld Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Light Anti-Aircraft Gun operated by Heeres-Flak Odulf, unusual since it has been printed in reverse!

LarryT Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I doubt this Larry, to my opionion it is an Oberfähnrich.. I stand corrected. Should have looked at the pips on his shoulder straps. Cheers, Larry
Paul R Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 A pretty rare image though. Thank you!!!
