Christian Zulus Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 I'd like to understand better how the OLG series fit into the normal labor sequence DistLab => ValLab => BoH => RBL => HSL. How was the OLG series awarded? And to whom? This may require having research available. Not now, alas. Dear Ed,the same problem, as with the (military) Glory: A full cavalier is at the ident level as a HSL or HSU, but a 2nd or 3rd class is (officially) below a BoH or RS .Personally I would rank a singular OLG between a BoH and RBL. A OLG 2cl & 3cl between a RBL and Lenin.I guess, there had been a somehow ident prestige concerning the OLG and Glory: Proletarian awards for authentic deeds .Best regards Christian

RedMaestro Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Another set just appeared on ebay too. Search "soviet group" and you'll see it. Any thoughts on this one? The documents look bad to me, but are the medals perhaps real?
RedMaestro Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 On eBay?!?!? Yeah, I know. But these do look a tad better than some of the others I've seen.

Hauptmann Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Hi all,Great thread! Just wondered... are there any Cavaliers of the OLG who also were awarded the HSL? Or is having the three just considered the same and they wouldn't be eligible for the HSL? Dan
Ferdinand Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 There were 4 full Order of Glory cavaliers who were also HSU, so it was probably - at least theoretically - also possible to be a full OLG cavalier and an HSL...

RedMaestro Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 The CollectRussia cavalier set has sold for a "mere" 10K This is the only soviet medal-related item whose value has dropped below what it was when I started collecting 2 years ago.
