Bernhard H.Holst Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Hello Chris. For Post 78 my guess is von Xanten. A bell in my mind says a name much presented in the German Army of old and otherwise. Bernhard H. Holst
Glenn J Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Chris, a Major Hermann-Gustav v. Santen was on the General Staff of the Chef des Feldeisenbahnwesens. In 1914 an Oberleutnant in Husaren-Regiment Nr. 14. Regards Glenn
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 Hi, thanks guys, it looks like Santen is the winner in view of his posting. best Chris
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 Way less chance on this one I think....
IR 134 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Hi. bought this photo of a saxon Hauptmann at the weekend. Clearly visible his shoulderboards with "178" or "179". Dedication reads: "z. Erinnerung an Wurzen August 1917" But his signature is still a misery for me. First I thougt Köhnecke but can´t find nobody on Ranklists or Roth. What are youre clues? Gruß Stefan
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 Hi, Can anyone hazard a guess? Thanks Chris

Chris Boonzaier Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 Hi Glenn, thanks a million, I was stuck on "Kümm"! Another Gardeist.....
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 This man recieved the EK2 twice!! I assume the Kavellerie Officer is easier, the Abwicklungs amt guy more difficult...
Glenn J Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Chris, ever heard of a guy called von Rundstedt? Regards Glenn
arb Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) Chris I think the Abteilungs Vorstand is "Reinick", probably Robert from FAR 19 at beginning of the war. Andy Edited December 13, 2015 by arb
speedytop Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Hi Chris and Andy, yes, it is Oberstleutnant Reinick Uwe

Chris Boonzaier Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Admittedly I only had the Wikipedia page, but I cannot find and Regiments Führer on the list that looked anything like this... Does anyone have an idea? Thansk Chris
The Prussian Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Hi Chris. The Kommandeur was Freiherr Fritz v. Wedeklind, but this signature is from the "Regiments-Führer" Note, that he was only Hauptmann as a regiment-leader! I can´t read it clearly, but there were a lot of "von Zychlinksi" in the army. I couldn´t find a fiiting one in the Ehren-Rangliste, maybe he was a reserve-officer.
