hucks216 Posted June 16, 2018 Author Posted June 16, 2018 Can anyone help me in identifying this signature please - dated for April 1933 with the rank of Major and Kommandeur of II/Inf.Rgt 14.
Dave Danner Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 Should be Generalmajor Eugen Bilharz, and if you squint, it almost looks like it. And I thought my signature was nigh illegible. Dave
hucks216 Posted June 16, 2018 Author Posted June 16, 2018 Thanks for that Dave. I don't think I would of got that in a million years, especially with just the signature to go on.
hucks216 Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 A friend has asked me to try and identify this signature for him and I am currently stuck on it, I can not even identify the first letter. Is it an A, F or something else? It is signed on behalf of GdA Wiktorin and there is a chance it could be a Luftwaffe Generalleutnant and I am basing that solely on not being able to find a Heer name in my books and files that might fit. So could be Heer but could be Luftwaffe.
Satzar Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) Hi everyone ! I'm asking once more for your kind help. Could anyone identify the signature of this Hauptmann from 1. Kompanie Infanterie-Regiment 109 from 35. Infanterie-Division. He was in command in 1936 until at least 1938. Thanks in advance, Satzar. Edited November 17, 2018 by Satzar

The 1938 Stellenbesetzung shows a Hauptmann Pfeifer which I would say matches that signature.
Dave Danner Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Otto Pfeifer, born 2.9.1898 in Schleiz, Reuß jüngere Linie.
Satzar Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 (edited) A great thanks to both of you ! I would never have found this one. According to the 1939 Stellenbezetzung, he was transfered to Infanterie-Regiment 56. Edited November 25, 2018 by Satzar
JFarr29 Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Hi Can anyone assist with this signature. Its an EKII doc late 1943 to a soldier kia near Kiev. His VWA Schwarz doc is signed by a staff officer in AR 188 (his unit) but this doc appears to be a generalmajor and the stamp appears to contain SS (though that may be a misread) Im shrugging with the suetterin script on this one. First letter could be W?
Odulf Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Gents, I need your much appreciated help with this Generalmajor's signature. The EK2 document is to the 245 Inf.Rgt. but that, with my reference books, leads not to an identification.
hucks216 Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) What does the stamp say? It might be that Inf.Rgt 245 was attached to another division. EDIT: Found it - Dietrich Kraiss. For the date of that citation he was in command of 168.Infanterie-Division. Edited August 4, 2020 by hucks216
Odulf Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Thats great, thanks a ton! The Division stamp reads 168 (but it could also be read as 268, 269, 169, 168), so it is defenitely 168, the signature is verified by the signed portrait from internet (enclosed). 1
Odulf Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Gents, again I need your help with the identification of a signature from a document dated 20-06-1940. Thanks in advance
hucks216 Posted February 10, 2021 Author Posted February 10, 2021 (edited) Does anyone know who signed this? It has been signed on behalf of rather than by the person who held the position so can not find anything that fits. At the date show Karl Kriebel held the position shown on the citation while Ernst-Eberhard Hell held the command position in VII.Armeekorps - neither signature matches. hucks216 Posted November 13, 2021 Author Posted November 13, 2021 Does anyone have an example of Generalleutnant Eugen Demoll's signature for comparison purposes please and can confirm or refute the example below? The date, rank, place and position all fit so should be Demoll but I just cannot see that name in this signature. I have this signature in two different WP, both dated for 1936 but a few months apart.
Dave Danner Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 There was no personnel file for Demoll in the National Archives. If there's one in the Bundesarchiv, it's not available. I also haven't found his signature on evaluations of subordinates, whether in the Heer or Polizei. If this is his signature on his marriage certificate, rather than that of a clerk, it is not close, but this also dates from 1910, and we've seen big changes in signatures over even shorter timeframes.
hucks216 Posted June 29, 2022 Author Posted June 29, 2022 I believe this is the signature of Oberst Freiherr von Schönau-Wehr of W.B.K Türbingen as listed in the 1937 Stellenbesetzung but does anyone know his first name and any additional details please?

It was between the 01.10.1920 and 01.10.1921 Reichsheer Stellenbesetzungen. New Reichsheer RDAs were assigned around September 1922, I believe. He's in the 12.10.1937 Stellenbesetzung, but not in the 1938 Stellenbesetzung, so he was retired between those. He was an Oberst z.V. in 1940, according to the HPA personnel file of one of his sons. hucks216 Posted June 30, 2022 Author Posted June 30, 2022 Thanks for that Dave, that is a great bit of detail.
hucks216 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 This signature is for a Major von Kleist based at WBK Stolp but can anyone provide further details please? It seems to be a name that might have a personal link to Stolp (or might not!) There was a Diether Dennies von Kleist (born 13th March 1890) who served as a Hauptmann in Kaiser-Alexander-Garde-Gren.- Rgts. Nr. 1 and married to Freya Untermann in Stolp on 25th February 1945 and whose family seems to have links to Stolp according to 'Die Familie von Kleist 1934' as found online.

hucks216 Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 That's great, thanks Dave. It confirms it is him although I don't think I have ever seen so many middle names before.
