Ferg1 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 One more , (i don't want to bore people ) Unknown armelzeichen ,might not be strictly WW1 possibly 1920's but certainly unusual. Seems to be copying a marine flieger erinnerungsabzeichen (retired pilot badge) but without crown.Certainly a ratings badge but not sure of its purpose,anyone got any clues ?? I have a period picture of the badge in wear but no clues there. Ferg.

It contains more then 130 flights during his pilot training at LFA Johannisthal and later his fighter training at Kampf-Einsitzer-Schule Langfuhr. Hi flow different land planes including Fok. D.VII, Pfalz D.XII and other fighter airplanes. It is the only flight book i know of an LFA pilot. Edited January 12, 2013 by jaba1914

Here the small group of Steuermann Hermann Degel from Kommando Z XII. He start his training back in Dec. 1914 at Schulkommando Johannistal. Later he belonged to the crew of Z XII. Regards Alex

But only with L 37 did he saw action.
