Deruelle Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Hi everybody, I would like to show you one of the nicest Saxon officer ribbon bar I have in my collection. This bar belonged to Generalmajor Emil Fürstenau (1865-1930). Before the war he served in Staff in IR 181. When the war has begun, Major Fürstenau was Bataillon commander of IR Nr. 105 till March 1915. The he took the head of the RIR Nr. 102 till August 1916. He finished the war at the head of the 192 Infantry Brigade. Despite the fact he lost his left arm in September 1914, he has chosen to continue to serve his Country till the end of the war. A true hero. He received the following medals and orders : On his ribbon bar : Knight cross of St Henry, 24 August 1914, Knight cross 1st class with X of Merit Order of Saxe, 28 August 1915, Iron cross 2nd class, 1914, Knight cross 1st class of Albert of Saxe, 24 May 1910, Long service medal for 25 years, 1910, Knight cross with X of House Order of Hohenzollern, 2 November 1916, Knight cross with X and Lions of Crown of Wurttemberg, 22 December 1914. Commander cross of St Henry, 28 August 1916, Commander cross with X of White Falcon of Saxe Weimar, 1916, Officer cross with X of Albert of Saxe, 8 February 1916, Officer cross with X of Crown of Wurttemberg, 15 April 1915, Iron cross 1st class, 1914. His grade Leutnant : 18 January 1887 Oberleutnant : 18 September 1893 Hauptmann : 29 March 1900 Major : 17 June 1910 Oberstleutnant : 17 March 1915 Oberst : 21 May 1917 Generalmajor : 28 November 1919 z.D. : 6 February 1919 a.D. : 31 March 1920 Christophe

IR 134 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Hi. Recent Ebay find and for only 4 € no bad deal. Emil Fürstenau, ca.1901 as Hauptmann and Kompaniechef at the Unteroffizier-Vorschule Marienberg. Can someone please give me the exact date from when to when he was there? Gruß Stefan
