ccj Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Here's a nice worn tunic in horizon blue for a general de brigade. 1
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Can you show one from the side wth the rank? If it was named it would be fantastic!!
ccj Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 Has a label but it's packed away because I'm trying to sell home. Never had tabs and has always been a general rank. A lot more wear than photos suggest but still very nice display of wartime tunic.

Chris Boonzaier Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 That is really, really nice.... I would love a French or German generals jacket, especially a named one....
ccj Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) I am fortunate to have 4 french generals tunics and and two German field gray tunics Edited September 27, 2013 by ccj

Chris Boonzaier Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I would love to get a named one to a General who commanded a division at Verdun. As the French rotated their divisions, and the Germans barely did, quite a few French commanders would do ;-) At the Museum at Verdun they have Mangin's tunic.... if I could choose a single tunic of any nationality, that would be it ;-)
ccj Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 I am a huge fan of French WW1 military and its war history. The French are unappreciated, especially during the Great War. Do you have photos? I think one of my generals tunics is named but I'm packing because am selling home and have 3 weeks to get moved.
Stuka f Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Love them too! I am having a cap on my list for quiet some time.... Nice items, thanks for sharing! |<ris
ccj Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) Here's another, its not a General de brigade but rather I General de Division Edited October 25, 2013 by ccj 1
ccj Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 My 4th tunic. Another General de Division bit in Horizon Blue. I love the kepi paired with this tunic. I hope everyone enjoys looking at this. Aside from my German field gray uniforms these are my favorite items. 1
filfoster Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) The sleeve stars on the horizon blue tunics above appear to be silver, not gilt. Is this the case? Edited October 21, 2020 by filfoster
ccj Posted December 10, 2021 Author Posted December 10, 2021 Nice, I enjoy looking at early French uniform items.
Graf Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Yes. It is nice to see all those uniforms..and in good condition
Michael Johnson Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 I only wish I had my great-uncle's uniform, to go with his sword, helmet, and gas mask. Michael
