Cheers, Larry Hello Larry, Im not that uniform guy. Maybe you can tell me. Here another shot of his dad. Greetings Stefan
Bayern Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 certainly the badge on the left collar patch looks as the one of the Teno but the uniform looks rather archaic
LarryT Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Hi, Definitely TeNo. Uniform was dark blue and the uniform looks to be from the early-mid 1930s. His rank I believe is Vormann. Here is a similar tunic photo. Credit for photo goes to "harrah de" http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253028&page=6 Cheers, Larry

LarryT Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 From the book: Heavy cruisers of the Admieal Hipper Class by Gewrhard Koop and Klaus-Peter Schmolke Shipboard Aircraft The ships were designed originally to carry three floatplanes of the standard naval type, the Arado Ar 196. The crew consisted of a Luftwaffe pilot and a naval officer as navigator/gunner. The latter, though seconded to the Seeluftwaffe, wore naval uniform and took part in routine shipboard watchkeeping and battle duties.
