slava1stclass Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 To all: Although Soviet civil awards are not my forte, this picture caught my eye. In it the recipient is seen wearing the Medal for Valiant Labor with the first variant "triangle" hangar.Regards,slava1stclass
Stogieman Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 That's a great photograph. What is the badge above the medal? Can you blow that up a bit? Thanks!
kimj Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Yes, very nice photo. It's harder to find good civilian photos with awards than military ones.Without a close up I would guess Excellence in Socialist Competition, Narkomat of Oil./Kim
slava1stclass Posted April 28, 2006 Author Posted April 28, 2006 Yes, father and son? Nice!! Correct. Photo taken in 1941. Blow-up of u/i badge is below.Regards,slava1stclass
Riley1965 Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I'll add my apreciation for this picture. I've seen a handful of Soviet civilian photos.Doc
Chuck In Oregon Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I love this photo. They are both as proud as they can be.Here are some images of that badge.Chuck
Riley1965 Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Chuck,WOW!!! The badge and presentation box and picture. Quite a group!!! Doc
Chuck In Oregon Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 You know, on further review, that doesn't appear to be the same badge. I thought I could flesh out that photo a bit with these images, but I think I was wrong. Mine is, I believe, an Excellent Worker - Narkomat of Oil, not a Socialist Competition badge. My mistake and I apologize.Chuck
Mossy Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Slava, Very nice photo! Was this photo on it's own, or did it come as part of a group? Alfred, is that a different version of the 'Excellence in Socialist Competition, Narkomat of Oil' badge Chuck showed, which is a great looking set by the way!Sam.
slava1stclass Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 Slava, Very nice photo! Was this photo on it's own, or did it come as part of a group? Sam.The photo was solo.Regards,slava1stclass
