Hi, Just read your response to this thread and taken a look at your MD jacket. Unfortunately, the guy was in the wrong air force for me as I try, not with much success, to stick to RAF!! However, having said that, what are you looking for in either cash terms or trades?? Do you have any other RAF gear for down load??
I too lived in Singapore for about 2 years at RAF Seletar. Did not want to come home but had to!!
Cheers Michael

Hi Leigh I found a old link to a thread you posted regarding a large fusilier cap badge and would desperately like to obtain one for myself, do you have one for sale or can you direct me to a site tgat as one for sale ?

Hi Peter
The bottom line is that BTP will not reissue the medal, as the government do not do it. There are a number of licenced medal suppliers who for around £50 can supply an engraved medal. If the family wishes to pursue that then I am told that BTP may organise an official presentation of the medal to the family, probably in Liverpool. I await the decision.
Best wishes
Steve

Hi Garth, I was wondering if you would be prepared to sell your bronze QSA to Luchman. I have one to Minto of the same unit if you wanted a replacement.

Can I get your advice on a Russian Life Saving medal? I am the owner of Lot 5158 Hermann Historica Auction #72, the estate of the Piano Composer and virtuoso Xaver Scharwenka, of which this medal is a part. A pic is online but I can send another to you if needed. It came on blue ribbon but not sure if correct. I've searched all my meager references but was unsuccessful in locating anything on this item. Do you know it and its background? Thanks a lot. Bob Schmidt

Hi Bob,
about the badge
http://maletin.euro.ru/level2/carizm/badges/obv_spas_3.htm
So ribbon is the wrong one, because there was no ribbon at all.
Only blue rosette.
Example of such rosette

In wear

You've been quiet of late: hope everything's OK with you...

How very sweet of you to notice and write. My sporadic presence is due to work... The past 6 months have been stupid to the point of bordering on the criminal... I've sent a helo team to the Arctic, prepared a second one for departure, preparing my guys for Iraq and another bunch for Mali... 6-7 day weeks composed of 12-16 hour days... I'm about ready to fall flat on my face. Oh well, the show must go on!

Hi Andy,
Did you notice the pair of M15 FAR.43 enlisted man's straps for sale here?
Chip
-
Hello Marcin,
I have given you some basic identifications on your shoulder straps. All have some value. There are no rare ones in the group and there are some that have very little collector value. The enlisted cyphered ones sell on German Ebay for about 35 Euro each. The officer's cyphered boards can sell for up to 100 Euro, the Hessen one here falling into that category. The 123 Grenadier, typically less. If you sell them as a group, I think you will get less money, but you would get rid of the uninteresting ones that might not sell on their own. I hope this helps.
