    1. Hi David, could this be the one? http://www.emedals.com/collectors-gallery/germany/german-states/saxe-coburg-gotha-s-g-altenburg/a-saxe-gotha-altenburg-1814-waterloo-medal-g11935?vmcchk=1
    2. I must say I had once thought about it as well.. What a dilemma. Nicely done as in the old days.. But would not dare anyway.
    3. You are the best, guys! Just returning from holidays.. Many thanks
    4. Ive recently got a 1870 urkunde to a "Sekonde-Lieutenant Eduard Schultze im Hannoverschen Feld-Artillerie-Regiment No. 10", and was wondering if any additional information might surface regarding soldier or regiment... not my field, just wanted to frame a nice original to go with a type A. A very old thread also mentions a CD once for sale containing rankliste for all 1870 eks awarded. Has anyone got this info at hand to make deal? Thanks in advance guys. Best regards Alex
    5. Hi, looks like a Hansen core to me, but can not say much about the screw. Maybe others will join... I like it, first impression.
    6. Dont like the crown, orb and cross obverse and reverse. Also no weep holes for an allegedly two piece badge. Strange brassy look for silver.
    7. Really liked all your museums threads. Feels like traveling, with such rich details. Thanks
    8. I found a curious engraving in a Sy Wagner EKI recently sold. As it seemed no ordinary name, I dare to google it and with surprise discovered a scottish clan motto in latin... http://www.emedals.com/collectors-gallery/germany/german-empire-weimar-r/iron-cross-1914/iron-cross-first-class-1914-silver-named-g10260?vmcchk=1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Hay What are your thoughts?
    9. Rick's legacy will live in resolutions as yours Chris. Lets hope this may get viral within the online community. I am sure some nice stuff will eventually come out "in memory of Rick". Keep high spirits and for sure he will always be around somehow.
    10. Thanks a lot Rick. Very interesting and educational reference you ve given me. Pure prussian seems will keep its secret forever then. Just maybe it might be possible to check any of those eleven names for the 1895 year with my ancestors line DECKER, HOTER, or FELIX? Best regards.
    11. Hoyden, congratz on this finely elaborated and wonderfully rich post of yours. Thanks
    12. Don, I am following this thread of yours with enthusiasm. Statistically it is possible that two eks with a K mark may one be from maker and other a control mark just the same by chance... But your findings with regards to core and frame details are promising :-) I only wish Wernitz would be so kind to answer the Kluge question you put forward. Email him mate! Cheers, Alex
    13. I would be grateful to know what you think of this KAG pin style please. Not the usual wide center one and mm G flaw. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Alex
    14. Hi Danny, good eyes. Unfortunately I can not provide better pics out of my celphone right now, but you made me search for that crunch bead flaw tip on other threads. It is indeed present in my cross and although the pin anchor ends smoothly as a Juncker, another tip Ive read is the partially straight left side pin opposed to the curved right one. Most likely an unmarked W&L then! Many thanks for your input mate. Should I test if it has a brass core?
    15. Thanks Paul. Indeed a nice piece that belonged to Major Hans Zethmeyer.
    16. Hi guys, Just wondering who might easily spot a possible maker for my unmarked cased EK1. I tried to concentrate on imperial EKs only but this one got me. I should start meetings for this addictive behaviour... Thanks, cheers. Alex
    17. Hi fellows. Napoleonic Wars is not really my field, but I liked this medal when I saw it and grab it altogether with a Hesse-Cassel one. Do you like it? Is it silver or other metal? what about the ribbon? I presumed they were broader, and this one is thin. Any thoughs are most appreciated. Thanks, Regards,Alex
    18. Sorry Magnus but this badge is no good for a number of reasons. Try searching this forum and you will find nice original Junckers to compare with. Hope you can get a refund mate. Cheers
    19. My set has arrived and not only graphically it´s an awesome piece of work, but the historical context provided as introduction is a must have. Still very happy and will learn a lot from it, and from your constant input as well Micha. Overall, chapeau Herr Wernitz. Chris, EKs rule! just don´t spread the word and we´ll keep values affordable
