These old (pre-1887) type Saint Michael miniatures are (amung?!) the nicest miniatures that are around. And while I'm actaully collection Baden awards, I couldn't part with mine after I bought it, actually for re-sale purposes... thanks for showing, Wild Card! From what I know, it must be a knight's cross 1st class. The knight's cross 2nd class was the same, but without crown. Both were abolished in 1887, when new types came out. In regards to the Nimmergut lexicon, I can not recommend it. While it might be usefull for quests like this, it's not worth its money - and contains literally tons of mistakes.

And one more Saint Stanislas, now a breast star miniature. Without bow - sorry in advance for highjacking the thread! -

Another breathtaking thread... thanks for sharing all these beauties! I can add one more Saint Anne (I used to have): -
Wow... one hardly ever sees any Imperial Russian medal bars over here in Germany... I'm speechless. What a treasury! Here's my modest contribution - one I used to have, years ago:

EK 1914 ek1 field repaired
saschaw replied to Eric Stahlhut's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Agree, this is quite likely! -
Very unusual! Good you now show it here, too, after we discussed it yet on German SDA forum. Maybe someone here has an idea?! My best guesses were the following two: A born Saxon who went to war with Austria as a mercenary (totally not unusual in mid 19th century), or a native Austrian who later went to live in the kingdom of Saxony. Due to precence and bar style I don't think this would have been worn by a Austrian in Austria.

... and, according to Nimmergut, has a white ribbon with three green stripes, as you explained it. I think that's the one! It came in three different versions, one by Sachsen-Meiningen, one by Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld and one by Sachsen-Hildburghausen. Each has it's dukes or duchess name on the front, and they have different suspensions. Current OEK shows all three of them on pages 583/584.

Everything is possible, but I find it very unlikely: An official award case would not be another if given to an A-H receipient, while a private purchase luxury case would probably have the awards and/or the awardee's name on the lid. I think this is an award case, from one of the states that used a triangular ribbon.

EK 1914 Help with 1914 EK2 Market "J" on the ring -Juncker?
saschaw replied to Graf's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
I agree this looks like a "J", but I've never seen a proof C. E. Juncker made the 1914 EK within the award era. The later private purchase crosses look totally different, of course - but that doesn't mean too much. -
I think the long service award could also (and rather) be a Neusilber 3rd class than the bronze gilt 2nd class... but impossible to know for sure. Quite odd to find that in Schlesien! That's a fake bar, by the way, by one of the most "popular" ebay fake bar makers ever, who has this third, new account...
