    1. They almost look like circus decorations to me, something a Ringmaster would wear for embellishment. Apart from that they don't appear to look like any order or medal I have seen before :D
    2. It isn't bad, it would be a good piece for people that Re-enact Although price seems, HUGE
    3. Many Thanks on your expert opinion Paul , thought it was right in the neighborhood for the VCs hehehe prices tend to fluctuate throughout the years If I had the funds, I'd probably have my own museum of VCs hehehe maybe one day, when I win the lotto
    4. That seems a bit extreme, couldn't you even buy a VC now a days for that amount or close? I mean sure the Mil Mi 24 and Apache Orders and Medals for Afghanistan are desired, but for that price it does seem to be even more than dealer premium if we just take "financial" side to it in account. It'd be nice if it included his actual citation for the action. Other than the DFC which is the only item for gallantry, is this a realistic price on such a grouping?
    5. don't hate bad photos, some people don't know where the Macro (flower symbol) function is on their camera yet can text 100 words a second in the same instant Seriously, we should charge people for making us endure bad photos, some horrible charge like 40% off the list price lol and 60% off if they want a lesson on how to take photos
    6. Hmm, it reminds of Austin Powers (Comedy "homage" movie of James Bond here in North America) The male symbol on the badge is great Maybe some Austin Powers Norwegian Club hehehehe Whatever it ends up being (definatley not Austin Powers club) I'll be following this one closely
    7. again, please don't sell it here (whatever price you end up choosing) sell the piece here : http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/classifieds/ GMIC Classifieds
    8. Most of the other orders that are available now that I've seen are in higher price ranges because they have better quality enamel and are near perfect, even one that is similar online right now at an expensive dealer lists it just above your initial price and the piece is in better condition. I think that you may receive higher offers if the condition is better or the quality of the photos show the actual condition of the piece in person, these are my intial observations from your current photos :)
    9. Sales are for the sales section, please post in this section if you would like to sell this piece. Just wanting to point it out, as a dealer price I think it is high. The enamels seem chipped and will effect the value as well as the crack and missing white enamel on the rear. It is best to take photos of each arm attachment point (to see if it was re-attached or is in original condition) The chipped enamel will effect your value, the black looks chipped, so does the icon in the middle section on the front of the order. Better quality images are needed. Hope that helped
    10. Uniform itself looks very US, I'll check my sources again and confirm Especially the tie and dress shirt. Brits usually had a different tone and look to their uniforms. Paja is spot on for the other items in the picture
    11. Since it is my first vehicle and I'm mighty proud Here is my Austin Tilly, did some pre-shading on the Olive Green to make it pop and more lifelike Complete with Muddy windshield effect : Reverse: I'll need to post some comparison shots tomorrow of its small size Igor :)
    12. Wow, it looks real good quality would definatley fool me :D
    13. Wowza Thanks for posting them Nick, very interesting :D
    14. Very cool and thank you for sharing it with us (especially the explanation on single and double eagle, as I would have been searching for hours for a "double eagle" on the image hehehehe)
    15. Wow Excellent to see that you've saved this bunch, I think some people see the Swastika and think "trash" or they just don't care, glad to see them having been rescued a true find :D
    16. Greece and Egypt come to mind for some reason, I believe I've seen this logo on a watch somewhere
    17. les plus grands mutiles et invalides de guerre Translates to the greatest war wounded (I would assume this would be WW1, "the great war") je sourirai quand même Used as an expression in this case, "I will smile regardless" (or anyway either can fit here) The wounded men will smile because of the acts they undertook to bring piece and end the war is my understanding. Pride in their accomplishments and that their wound wasn't in vain. I think it is a wound medal for amputees and Paraplegics, as invalides and mutiles means invalids and cripples. Ribbon looks French but I'm not France collector I've done a small search online and there is a Bronze one of these (but just the medal without suspension and ribbon) The seller has listed it in the Belgium column of medals and not France, so it might be from Belgium Yours appears to be silver I would assume there is a Gold version as well (maybe gold plate but still 3 classes maybe?)
    18. +1 Disgusting, but then again, if they replaced it with another marker (like a society) and they were selling it for funds to upkeep the graves, it would make more sense. I often imagine how much of orders and medals were once buried with the recipients and then uncovered, horrible and disgusting practice it is, but grave robbers have been doing this since the end of time.
    19. Great case now you need a Takovo to place it in hehehe :D
    20. It is a very interesting Bar indeed Could it be something a Tailor could have done for the vet?
    21. We can't really make it out from one photo, especially since the breast star eagle looks crooked :S I'll check in the book later but from the photo it looks to me like 2 different variations, might even be two different classes. If you could get more photos it would help a lot
