Based on the observartion of a sharp eyed associate, Oberst Bonsack's medal bar seems to indicate that the EK2 has been sewn on backwards!

Certainly the furled ribbons are not unique to any state but are thought of as "south German." As I discussed this Stogieman he indicated the height of the bar was a trait favored by Wurttemburg. You can see Rick's Bavarian bar is a tad taller than mine. As far as what's proper you are on the right track. Tall or short, furled or not, it's a fashion statement rather than interpretation of regulations.
