    1. what's the medal ribbon in the middle-on Noors' ribbon bars? I just picked up one in a shoe box (very faded) that has the same medal. It's the same as the bottom one in picture #1! Thanks,
    2. Ah! Mea culpa! Thanks Scowen! I learned something new today!
    3. I have some award booklets for these. Was there ever a "roll" published of who got these? Were there newspaper stories about the "old vets" in the media?
    4. SUPERB!! Do you ever see Iraqi flags besides the national banners at all?
    5. I think it is a police lapel badge (for civilian dress). I have no idea if its pre 1945 or not.
    6. As far as I'm concerned one of the top three awards of the HUPR! Given to the older stalwarts (allegedly) of Bela Kuns' armies/mobs!
    7. Hmmmmm... I saw a similar one at a show last month for a mere $200! The ribbon was different and i thought Dutch though. I think its a merit medal. anyone?
    8. ARGH!!!!!!! I hate competition! Where did you get THAT???! Not Lowell, please say not Lowell!
    9. Yes, Saigo as the commander. From what i have read, this was the last great "Samurai" campaign with many officers and warriors going into battle wearing traditional armour alongside newly trained "european" style troops.
    10. I NEVER see the 4th classes for sale. Who got those?
    11. well, here is my contribution-acquired many years ago from Spinks. Did I get burned?
    12. Oh. My. God! How much is THAT going for? Isn't that Saigos' campaign; the last great Samurai war?
    13. Bravo!!! descended from the hero of Waterloo undoubtedly.
    14. whoa!!! Awesome. Those look very early. Is there a book on the Kivalo badges at all?
    15. You mean in the same brigades? Yup-and also at the Corps level too. Also, some specialists (Pioneers, Signals, mapping printers etc.) got multiple awards. Notice this guy-a lowly Saxon feldwebel @ 1918:
    16. It's the Prussian war vets association cross. This is an Oldenburg Cross:
    17. WHOA!!!! Something new! What are those?
    18. well, they cost a lot more than they used to that's for certain. May we see the back please? there were gorgets made in the UK for exiled troops and I'd love to see if this was one of them with a UK hall mark.
    19. No offense-but not nearly as often as you'd suppose, especially the ones in garrison duty in places like Poland and Russia. The WOs and senior NCOs tended to get multiple state awards in photos and notes i have-not always-but as a tendency. There are photos out there of Gefreiters with multiple state awards, but those are super rare.
