    1. Rick: Isn't that the life saving medal on the medal bar? Odd ribbon too, if it is.....
    2. Jeepers- I hope I live in that style when I am 75 years old!
    3. Fake? ...or copy? I am VERY confused here. What is the "state of affairs" with Nepalese/Indian medal bars? If a Ghurka Sergeant is wearing a full medal rack with copy medals, doesn't that validate them as wearing copies? What happened to his originals? Never issued? Lost, stolen?... or is he a fraud? (I can not fathom the latter).
    4. Well, my Honour ranklist has him in the Kreigschool in Kassel, commanding Gren. Regt 3 in the war, Major General aD: REO4, LS, Cntl AND (!) Rettungsmedal in 1914! Nice.
    5. Still good to see the Ghurkas hold true to some good old traditions, like Remembrance Day and decently mounted medal bars (A VERY nice rack I would say too, although I only recognize two of the medals- Ed?).
    6. 4150 C for an order of Glory;3rd class? Mon, you cracked the lottery this month. Congratulations, the collecting Gods love thee.
    7. Well, it all looks good to me, except maybe the spangen. Those are key are they not? These I do not know about; hopefully others can spot the modern copies.
    8. A family or firm motto perhaps? "To fight/struggle alone is ....?"? Or, perhaps a sports prize of some sort...it sounds rather a sporty motto?
    9. ooops- I meant 1913, by the LS medal peeking out at the end of the bar.
    10. a close up of the bar and stripes: I think I see the Prussian honor medal on war ribbon, a crown order medal, a China medal, a SW Africa medal and a LS medal. Daniel, perchance any idea who he might be?
    11. Check this out. I bid on this and lost. Lo-it came to live down the street from me, whence I have borrowed it for YOUR viewing pleasure. Check out the medal bar. Now THAT's a Feldwebel!
    12. hmmmm...I do not think that Austrian cross belongs there-but is the last ribbon correct , fat and flat mounting style too?
    13. nice! Glad to see the swords were fixed: rare, rare, rare.
    14. small world. I got this small id photo @ 10 years ago at a show in Massachusetts. I got it for the ribbon bar: Austrian and Hungarian 14-18 commemorative s ONLY!
    15. Ditto here! A most fascinating piece of history! Thank you.
    16. Wow!!!! Hidden treasure there old man. Well done and congratulations!
    17. Nice: Having spent some time aboard one of those old destroyers, he earned every medal.
    18. Elegant, simple and succinctly says all that needs to be said.
    19. I note that in some instances ribbon bars are worn "on campaign". Interesting, although I may be seeing photos of police and paramilitary units with them. Do you know if the Indian soldiers wear ribbon bars in combat?
    20. Hmmmmm...sounds like a worthwhile OMSA website project if one was bored (and retired). The recent book sounds exciting. I believe (hope) my copy is in Santa's bag hidden in my wife's closet somewhere. A recent photo of a Peacekeeper in the Congo 5 days ago. India has a long tradition of peacekeeping in Africa. Worthy of a book I reckon.
    21. Good stuff. Can you show us any examples? They look intriguing.
