    1. Very cool. I knew they existed, but did not realize how big they were. Were they numbered? He must have had the Worker/Peasants 57 medal, a Merit order, several military merit medals, the Liberation Jubilee and at least 4 LS medals as well as maybe another flood medal. Oh to have seen his portrait in 1981!
    2. Really nice! I LIKE the enlisted mans' stuff. The Hanovarian Laganzala duo makes you think. Who was the awardee?
    3. Well, I learned something new today. May I ask what is the weight and size of that SA? Where did you get it?
    4. That is a "new" form of Meybauer Silesian eagle, at least for me. Meybauers are commonly encountered with enameled fronts and of very good quality-and black. I have never seen a gold Meybauer SA. The Meybauer stamp has been used extensively on fake air badges.
    5. Oh- My- God. This thread is going to take a while to digest. You have been busy.
    6. Fantastic!! I am gob-smacked.
    7. I got this last week (thankee' Mike). Nice little photo-albeit a bit dark: EK2,AEZ, Sax-Weimar war medal:
    8. Well, I have just spent 15 minutes squinting at 1940s photos of British firefighters from the Blitz and the cap badge seems to look very similar to this. It's hard to say as the photos are distant.
    9. Huh- Interesting. You don't often see US stuff as 'war trphies'.
    10. Good point-it does look more British 19th century doesn't it? The lug backs also would make me think British-type badge. Hmmmmmmmm.
    11. Cool pic. I think #7 is the Centennial and #5 is a LS. Well, maybe not.
    12. well, it looks good to me, but what do i know? I'd LOVE to compare these side-by-side. By the way Rick, I CARE! sniff-sniff. :Cat-Scratch:
    13. I've edited the pics a bit via Moderation wizardry. What is the size of this badge? I think it's a Baden volunteer fire badge @ 1930s, but it may be something else.
    14. Very cool. Do you have any ideas as to who/whatrank level got what bar?
    15. ....... with an odd, yellowish patina, this uber-rare table medal was awarded for "loyal and faithful service" to selected Flakhelferinen, usually described as "Officermatrazen" by other troops.
    16. Good Lord! That is interesting. I can only decipher parts of the card (name rank,#, 35th Infantry????) etc. and really wonder what the 1947 remarks are. Hmmmm....I do not know the answer, but I know where to go to ask. Have you tried the Great War Forum? I'll wager Happy Botts, DCM will know.
    17. BRILLIANT work Alex!!! Your Great Uncles' portrait is fantastic.
    18. a few QSAs? That's an understatement. What's the one on the left-6 bars?
    19. Nice! This one seems thater made-"tuna can-ish" to quote Rick.
