      I personally think that any unofficial medal on a bar destroys it, or rather makes it less desirable to me.

      I wish I had his medals... :-( I am going to purchase some contemporary examples, including the clasps he was entitled to, and frame them up. I think that he was buried with his medals.

      Those pre 1900 medal bars are spectacular. My favorite is the 1866-1870 set!

      I will go through and post some of the better post cards within the next day or so. You know, that could be could be a razor case. I was just speculating on the purpose. It would be cool of the contents were still in there.

      That is one of the most amazing HJ collections I have seen, ever. Many of those are what I would call, one of a kind. All of that in five years?!?!??! All I can say is, WOW.
