    1. What is the minimum rank that can be held by a member of the Luftwaffe General Staff? Please cite your reference, if you can. Kind regards Paul
    2. What years was he in service? What medals are those? I do recognize the Legion of Merit from the US. Regards Paul
    3. Thanks Gene, Here is another. It is to a TSD Fliegerbluse.
    4. What are your thoughts on the attached breast eagle? It is attached to a tunic I am looking at. Kind regards Paul
    5. Very beautiful and rare cap. I think that the rarity is only second to Administrative!
    6. Hi Micha, Could you please post some bigger scans without the editing? Thanks Paul
    7. Assessor is the only thing that makes sense. Just checking.
    8. But it is not fun unless it is bootlegged! Just joking. That is a good idea. I am sure that if the news service would have no problems in providing the sound bit, once the article is a couple days old. Paul
    9. I was looking at the the below... is it possible that some of the double letters could be "f"s? They look very similar.
    10. There has to be a way... Maybe someone with a bit more computer skills can help?
    11. Ohhh Ohhh Rick (both of ya's)... I can pick you up on the way!
    12. WOW! There is a Belgrade vet in there! Also a vet with the Victory over Japan AND Germany medals! Thanks for sharing these, Ed. I would love to be able to sit down with these men! The stories they could tell. I hope that someone took them down at some point.
    13. Wow!! A very significant medal. I suppose that there are no dates on it? Very strange ribbon pattern! I bet that these are rare!
    14. I would also be very interested in knowing what the medal in blocks 23 and 24 are!
    15. Wow!! You hit a real nice flea market. Is the Soviet Constitution printed in English anywhere?
    16. Hi Christian, The Moderator, Chris, is a grown man and combat veteran. He does not need to be "controlled". It is our policy to make controversal(by that I mean threads that skirt along the boundries of the established rules) threads temporarly invisible if we feel that there is a need for review by the Chairman. BTW, I think that I can speak for all the moderators when I say that there is no "Elite feeling" within the staff. It is not like we are getting paid, receiving free health care benefits, or retirement points. We are like you, simple collectors, who love the hobby and want to help others. I think that this forum(The Republic of Yugoslavia: Militaria) has a lot of potential and would love to see it grow. Lets keep our focus on the militaria and history... not our feelings on the politics surrounding the events. Thanks Paul
    17. Thanks for that!! I could not imagine what those boys went through, either. I did not know that you have a website. Where is it listed?
    18. Now that is the stuff dreams are made of!!! WOW!! I love those trousers!
    19. I understand what you are saying completely. You and I both collect for the same reason. I have been doing a lot of reading and looking over everything. 1. General Staff Officers came from all different career and educational backgrounds. Heck, I found one today that had a microbiology and botany background who worked within the weapons branch of the Luftwaffe!! It is quite possible that the owner of the jacket was some sort of inspector/tester before coming into the General Staff. 2. The theory of the jacket being passed down is very realistic. My personal service uniform has someone else's name in it!! I got it from a person who got out of the military who had no need for it. This is the one I use most commonly, saving my issued jacket for inspections and etc. I dont see why this could not be the case here. I cant think of anyone who would not want to save a few bucks. It is nice condition but well used(and smells like it too). 3. I have been over the jacket and cannot find a single detail that would lead me to believe that it has been messed with. If it were not for that tag, I would have not had a single issue. 4. An Assessor is not necessarily a position for an Official, as I initially thought. These and other reasons rebuild my confidence in this tunic. Thank you all for the PMs, phone conversations, and ideas. I tend to fly off the handle a bit.
    20. It looks like a worn and dirty infantry Officer's Litzen, WW2.
    21. That is some grouping!! Can you provide any background on his story?
