Paul, I am sorry to have missed your message. They are indeed full sized medals. I really think that the Navy and the Marine Corps expeditionary Service Medals are really pretty cool. Is it true that they did away with the Marine Corps version?

Are the first two awards noncombatant as well?

I would not personnally mess with it. I think that the coating would flake off, making things uglier.

I cannot see anything wrong with it. I am not a badge specialist, but I like the zink oxidation and etc. I think that it is about a 500-600 dollar badge. What say others?

Here is one of my favorite documents in my collection so far. It is for a meteorlogical specialist. It is stamped for the first quarter of 1945. A really cool piece in my opinion. I would love to see yours! Paul

Were non military members allowed to participate? Or... is it possible to just receive marching medals during a period of conscription?

What is that last medal awarded for? It looks civil to me.

I would like to find a nicely mounted pair of these medals for the set someday. I will try to take a better photo of the hat badge.
