    1. Stunning detail in the facial features. I am glad that you are feeling better.
    2. Thanks! I have been struggling with the wording on this one. I think that you could be right. A sound theory is better than no clue at all. I hope that someone publishes a book on the labor awards, which will include the known decrees and etc.
    3. Here is my only example... a double ORBL. There are no other medals I am aware of.
    4. Not much emphasis is given to Labor groupings, perhaps due to the difficulty in researching them? Anyway, I want to see any labor groups with duplicate orders or medals!!! Regards Paul
    5. I know of this award. Coast Guard members are still eligible to receive this award every time a life is saved on board of a helicopter. The younger kids normally get them. Regardless, I would be willing to bet that an early award like this would have an original signature on it. There were not too many helicopter rescues at sea back then. Although.... quite a few lives were saved in Korea by helicopters.

    9. It all belongs together. I am glad that you are the one who has the set now, Chris.
    10. That is a super grouping Chris! I have never before seen a NC EK2 document before. The WW2 era photo is interesting. IT does not look like any LS insignia configuration I have seen before. I will have to break out the Littlejohn book tonight. It reminds me of a prison service tunic. You did really well. Thanks for sharing.
    11. Sailmaster First Class?! When did that rate go away? I imagine that this one was merged into the Boatswain Mate field.
    12. That is a very impressive piece Mervyn!! I sent you a PM.
    13. I wonder where all of his WW2 medals went? They should be between the GCM and the Occ Medal.
    14. Please make the image sharper and larger, so that we can make out the details.
    15. Those are beyond amazing. I am sure that the first one got a little frustrated that he could not break the ORS ceiling.
    16. Bottom row, second from the right is the Nationalist Chinese medal for "Medal of Victory of Resistance Against Agression". Many were awarded to Americans who were in the Burma front in the Pacific War. Most likely, he "Flew the Hump" or assisted the Chinese Nationalist Air Force in some manner. It was awarded for contributions to China against the Japanese.
    17. Why would there be maker marks on the backs of props made only to be seen from the obverse? I think that some of these are unfinished(missing hand engraved SNs) fakes meant to be sold as real?
