    1. Details look pretty good on this one. I know that these have been heavily faked, so caution is in order.
    2. Hi Jan, Holders of the Garter who were awarded foreign orders which made the allowance for the addition of the Garter wreath wore these, obviously a small number of princely types.
    3. That is interesting, and difficult without the lower inlet. Looks like the impression of a star in the satin lining. I would guess a foreign order made by Godet.
    4. Both those bars look very nice, with plausible combos. From my limited experience with Austrian post-1934 bars, it seems that the Austrians were more reticent about putting the WW1 Austrian, Hungarian and Bulgarian medals on their bars than the Germans, who loved to 'pad' theirs.
    5. Right Sascha, that guy is a terrible purveyor of crap. I see the same stuff being offered every week, and apparently there are buyers for this Schrott.
    6. You're right, it is weird. But the bar is definitely not messed with, at least until I got it. I'm still leaning towards a royal HOH, peacetime award that is not in the correct precedence.
    7. Thanks Sascha. This one has been bugging me for some time. If it's a HEKmK in that position, I thought that wouldn't be right either, since this is clearly a Prussian bar and a Hohenzollern would classify as a 'foreign' decoration, or?
    8. Very cool. I had an EK1 that had been awarded by Wilhelm to a Bavarian pilot in 1916 and was engraved as such on the reverse. Pity I don't have it.
    9. Very unusual and interesting. My uncle was Staffelfuehrer of the Polizei-Flieger-Staffel Karlshorst at the time of the Kapp Putsch.
    10. It's true, there is no distinction between the Grosskreuz and the Komturkreuz in size, unlike the KO1 and KO2.
    11. Here is a weird one, non-combat EK2 with a Spanish coronation medal for Alphonso on the end.
