    1. I also know of Hauptmann Laue, father of an old family friend and adjutant to Eitel-Friedrich von Preussen, of the 1. Garde-Regiment-zu-Fuss, who also had the HOH and BZL combo.
    2. That is a great group, especially with the papers. I've only managed to obtain one Bavarian MVK grouping from 1870, so I know how scarce these are, and with the mini-spange simply outstanding.
    3. Hi Timo, That one looks vaguely familiar....I'm glad it's back with you again, it is indeed a much-travelled spange.
    4. Paul, I would if I could, but my computer has problems with this site. The doc is dated June 8, 1918 and is for Landwehr-Infanterieregiment 15.
    5. I have a document from this officer. If anyone could provide any biographical information on him, it would be appreciated.
    6. If that's a Turkish Iron Halfmoon second from last, what's the last one, Bavarian LSM?
    7. Sascha, it wasn't free, but I think the price I paid was more than fair, considering the rarity of these jubilee badges on this grade of the order.
    8. Colin, that sounds amazing. We know that early cases alone are in the 300-pound range. So, nobody else has ever found anything interesting on ebay? Hard to believe.....
    9. Just out of curiosity I thought I'd start a thread on the best items people have found on eBay. My current front-runner came in today: cased PKO2 with 60 Jubilee button by Wagner, with the most intricately sewn neck ribbon I've seen. According to Ludvigsen only 24 awarded until 1913. Would like to hear about other people's finds.
    10. I've tried to have a PKO2mX restored by my jeweler, but he won't touch it, as it would have to be heated in the re-enameling process, with potentially disastrous results.
    11. Funny that they spelled it wrong. My grandfather had a similar bar made for 'Dixmude'.
    12. Agreed, I have numerous examples, none of which have this or any other mark on the ring.
    13. Very weird, and why is it on the Hindenburg cross ribbon?
    14. Very nice, and you don't see many of these, considering the number struck. I've never seen one on a bar.
