    1. Hi Chris, yes. an Etappeninspektion had as well an own Generalstab. Grüße Daniel
    2. Hi Alan, niiice one!!! Based on the Italian Crown at the end - which represents a Commander grade neck cross, I would say at Colonels level. All 3 flower campaign ribbons is already quite unusual. I would guess, he might have made Police General so somebody who has the Biblio series on Police Generals might be able to have a look... Lots of greetings Daniel
    3. Otto, born 1872, entered service 1889, Intendantursekretär 1899 WW1 service in the 5rd KD and later Vorstand Feldintendantur Mil. Eisenbahndirektion 11 Was 1929 Verwaltungsamtmann beim Verwaltungszweigamt Breslau Source: Kriegsrangliste der Intendanturbeamten Viele Grüße Daniel
    4. Hi Chris, quite uncommon. Hamburg and Hessen were spread quite around in the whole Army. The Schaumburg cross is something else. Viele Grüße Daniel
    5. I would guess the white ribbon is an Ölberg cross. No medic, most likely a well situated nobleman who contributet with money and efforts to the church and the red cross. Lots of greetings Daniel
    6. Nice one!!! I can add the "usual" EK1 for him and a Johanniter knight :-) lots of greetings Daniel
    7. no. do not cut it in pieces. I would wait until "we" have final prove of the impossibility of this combo. There are a lot of point - Rick mentioned it - to say it is a fake, but I would still wait... We have seen quite a lot of nonsense in the last years. What makes me wonder is the complete set. I did - until now - not see a complete set with Medal bar, ribbon bar, lapel bow and mini chain. Lots of greetings Daniel
    8. yes, but... he did not have a KO4 in 1914. Already a Captain since October 1913, he was too senior to get a KO4. Captains received a Red Eagle 4, the KO4 was "reserved" for the Lieutenants... Lots of greetings Daniel
    9. Nice as well that you show us more interesting things! :-) This one is to read from the other side! Prussian Red Cross medal first, then Austria, Hamburg, ???Prussian Ölberg-cross???, most likely a Maltese Lots of greetings Daniel
    10. Hi Christophe, I do more think that a lot of them were actually Hannoveranian Officers. Quite a lot of them did not want to go in Prussian service after their defeat in 1866 so they went to the Saxons. Lots of greetings Daniel
    11. Tricky "borderliner".... I an "down" to 350 possible names.... :-( Greetings Daniel
    12. NICE!!! 3 golden crown on the Italian mean a GRAND Cross. Grand Commander had 2 golden stars, Commander 1 golden star and an Officer 1 silver star. Lots of greetings Daniel
    13. I would guess that the WM3 is an "upgraded" 1870(71 award. From the 1st view I like it! Lots of greetings Daniel
    14. If it is Otto Freiherr von Dungern-Oberau he died 1967. http://www.deutsches-jagd-lexikon.de/index.php/Dungern-Oberau,_Otto_von Greetings Daniel
    15. Andy, Rick, Glenn, I fully agree with you! :-) lots of greetings and lets keep them coming :-) Daniel
    16. keep them coming!!! :-) I am fairly sure I showed this group of ribbon bars before: One 1930ies tab back style - the baltic cross ribbon missing and one 1957 model ribbon bar. I wonder how this guy managed to get nothing in WW2 but was still in a kind of uniformed service in the late 50ies... Lots of greetings Daniel
