    1. I would like to add to this that it is for sure the most diverse medal fair world wide. From Annam to Zansibar, there is something for everybody. Do not underestimate the networking opportunities. I have been attending OMSA for almost 11 years now and had fun every time.
    2. The gilding is normally very very weak and in many cases bleached away. This one was once silver gilt if it has the 938 mark.
    3. Certainly not an officially made piece. But certainly very nicely made. I assume some kind of contemporary replacement piece
    4. It could also be a Red Eagle Order with smooth arms and swords. Keep in mind that swords or swords on ring did not exist from 1888 to 1889.

    7. Well, I was told by the grand son it was "Bernhard Gottschalk or Gottschalck", yet I could not find him in my limited research library.
    8. I do remember this one very well. Oak leaf is certainly a good old one, made before 1916 or on special request.

    11. Whooo, this thing follows the rule: "Hot potato, hot potato" I was actually invted to examine it life some month back, but left it where it came from. Amazing, this thing traveled all over the US and now to Canada.
