    1. Nice group! I'd like to know a little more about the mini OG3. Never seen one of those before.
    2. Probably awarded in the middle of 1944. Researching Soviet awards by serial number is possible these days and it is not terribly expensive.
    3. Interesting take. That ORB is pretty early. And the CSM is even earlier; would be interesting to see what actions entailed that award. And I think everybody with an OG2, myself included, hope to find out it's part of a cavalier group.
    4. Thanks for the offer! If I didn't have one already I'd jump all over it.
    5. Looks good to me. Probably awarded towards the end of 1944, so a solid wartime award. Shame about the missing ribbon but the suspension looks original to the award.
    6. ORB Nevsky ORS OG3 BM CSM OG2 As posted on another forum I'm curious which award you would research first? And also why? (Too bad there's no poll option that I can find.)
    7. That number doesn't return any active auction.
    8. Try this website: http://medalirus.ru/georgievskie-kresty/ . It might help. The main problem is that there about a thousand variations of the the George Cross and it's hard to tell where the legit variations end and the BS copies begin. Back in the day, during my brief foray into Imperial Russian awards, I registered with a couple of the bigger Russian language forums and posted there. And I got some help, so good luck mate!
    9. The one on his right breast looks like an Order of Kutuzov.
    10. Man, that's nice. Super early ORB. Those mirror reverses are very pleasing. Nice set.
    11. Looks like a T1V1 which originally came on the triangular suspension. Looks to be in very good condition as well. Great find.
    12. Hard to tell from just one, marginal image.
    13. I'm no expert on these early school badges. But just from the (nice) images I like the first one a lot more than the second. After having looked at Avers8 (pg479-481) I can see minor variations, from either batch or mint, that make me feel more confident about badge #2.
    14. Agreed, the Partisan is probably bad. Don't feel too bad though as I have a bad Partisan as well. That flatback Badge of Honor is a keeper!
    15. I like the first one more than the second one.
    16. They were similar to the Soviet style, but a lot clunkier. Attached are modern copies, but you get the idea I hope.
    17. Never seen the like but I must say I love it!
    18. Great bar! Thanks for sharing, and welcome.
    19. You've seen this site: http://medalirus.ru/pamyatnie-medali/pamyat-300-dom-romanovyh-s.php ? SO many variations/makers of Imperial medals makes me doubt much of my collection...
    20. I've got a lot of similar chain if anyone ever needs some. Similar, but not identical.
    21. Looks like this might be a good, albeit ugly, 1813 EK2, and a good "Badge of Distinction of the Military Order" issued by Russia around 1813/1815. If one found a name to the Prussian soldier who was awarded this Russian cross via Russian archives how could one research this Prussian soldier's information? This seems to me a possibly significant historical find if both awards can be tied to one soldier. Where would one go from here when looking for info for a Prussian soldier from 1815?
    22. It's a great place to start! Happy birthday.
    23. If it's an OPW2 it dates to very late war/very early post war period.
