Komtur Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 Identification realized with the help of the famous research community. With special thanks to Daniel, Paul, Rick and Sascha. Regards, Komtur.
arb Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Komtur, The good doctor's first name was Moritz. I found it in the 7th Nachtrag to the 1905 Ordensliste on page 634. In 1914 he was the Chefarzt Garnison Lazarett Mörchingen. Andy
VtwinVince Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Fantastic spange, with a somewhat eclectic mounting precedence.

TacHel Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Great set! Congrats! I have a question though... Why is the Albecht Order so far back? I understand it is a non Prussian award but is it simply because it was given in peace time?
Komtur Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Great set! Congrats! I have a question though... Why is the Albecht Order so far back? I understand it is a non Prussian award but is it simply because it was given in peace time? 1. EK2 - Prussian war time decoration 2. BMVO - Non-Prussian (Bavarian) war time decoration 3. Hanseatic cross - Non-Prussian (Hamburg) war time decoration 4. Frontkämpferehrenkreuz - Non-Prussian (German) war decoration 5. REO4 - Prussian peace time decoration 6. Red Cross Medall 3rd class - Prussian peace time decoration 7. DAK - Prussian peace time decoration 8. SAO knight 1st class with crown - Non-Prussian (Saxon) peace time decoration 9. CM - Prussian peace time decoration 10. Rumanian Jubilee Medal 1906 - foreign decoration May be I am wrong, but besides a switch of 8. with 9. seems everything in a logic precedence. Regards, Komtur.
Paul C Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Great set! Congrats! I have a question though... Why is the Albecht Order so far back? I understand it is a non Prussian award but is it simply because it was given in peace time? I believe the mounting order regulations were: 1. Prussian combat awards 2. Non-Prussian, Non-foreign combat awards 3. Prussian non-combat awards 4. Non-Prussian, Non-foreign, non-combat awards 3. Foreign awards
Claudio Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 @ Komtur: is the BMO3x real gold??? Wonderful bar...
saschaw Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I believe the mounting order regulations were: 1. Prussian combat awards 2. Non-Prussian, Non-foreign combat awards 3. Prussian non-combat awards 4. Non-Prussian, Non-foreign, non-combat awards 3. Foreign awards This way, or 1. Prussian combat awards 2. Prussian non-combat awards 3. Non-Prussian, Non-foreign combat awards 4. Non-Prussian, Non-foreign, non-combat awards 3. Foreign awards Additionaly, the Foreign awards could be split into war time and pre war awards either.

Komtur Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) His box of the Rumanian Crown Order with an newly added commander cross: Edited June 4, 2010 by Komtur
webr55 Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Those are great pieces - especially with all the historical details. I understand you got his original empty box for the Romanian Commander Cross and added the order itself?
