Lapa
Just interesting, what was the range of price for this order before ... (last year etc...) I can't tell, I was just shown the medal, and told that it is "very expensive, about $20,000".Marc

new world
Lovely medal, no question! How much would it cost without enamel damage - $30,000?William
Ed_Haynes
How much would it cost without enamel damage - $30,000?In today's market? Probably. I was shown one in UB ayear ago with a silly asking price of $25,000 (and it MAY be this one, though I don't recall the enamed damage -- new damage? -- have photos somewhere -- and if the silly/stupid step of hiding the serial number had not been taken . . . grrrr!!). Bob
Picked this up on another thread... a VERY interesting site for a variety of mind boggling references:- I'm collating old SB prices- Also nice to get serial numbers (e.g. on Soyombo's)- But first, read and laugh/weep at the same time:http://web.archive.org/web/20020706161314/...M.HTM?ITEM=6827

Sparks
Update on typology and serial number ranges. The confusion thrives. Type 1 (Screwback; МОНДВОР mintmark; long oval design with two red banners, ~300 awarded) - Low = 316/High = 792 Type 2.1 (Screwback; upward-curved МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР mintmark; Uighur; SN at 6 o'clock near bottom) - Low = 9/High = 2831 Type 2.2 (Screwback; downward-curved МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР mintmark; Uighur; SN directly below screwpost) - Low = 1151/ High = 2878 Type 2.3 (Screwback; no mintmark; Uighur; SN at 7 o'clock) - Low = 1562/High = ???? Type 2.4 (Screwback; hand-engraved МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР mintmark; Uighur; SN at 6 o'clock near bottom) - Low = 1710/High = 1776 Type 3.1 (Screwback; Cyrillic; slightly concave reverse; SN at 7 o'clock) - Low = 2/High = 6952 Type 3.2 (Screwback; Cyrillic; flat reverse; SN directly below screwpost) - Low = 5094/High = 9941 Type 3.3 (Screwback; Cyrillic; flat reverse; SN at 6 o'clock) - Low = 10007/High = 15000 Type 4.1 (Pinback, silver) - Low = 15015/High = 30426 Type 4.2 (pinback, bronze) - Low = 31650/High = 39785 Type 4.3 (pinback, bronze, no serial number, unawarded escapee?) Bob
Newly in, a shortened screwpost so easy to scan. A type 2.1 (?) (A 32.1). The mintmark is straight (enough); I am coming to believe all the mintmark differences here are meaningless. Number 9. <img src="http://gmic.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jumping.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="jumping.gif" /> That's nice, I have one coming my way which could be best descrined as an older brother to this one:) Pics to follow.
