Yes indeed there is - L. Rau.

This medal was awarded on 8 January 1871 to Gefreiter Ludwig Rauch of the 3rd Infantry Regiment (in) acknowledgment of outstanding bravery on 18 December 1870 in the battle at Nuits.

I found him:

Gefreiter Ludwig Rau (not Rauch)

Gefreiter Ludwig Rau served in 11th Companie, 3. Baden Infantry Regiment

His name was printed wrong as Ludwig Rauch on page 31 of the Badische Staatsanzeiger from January 1871. On page 201 of the Badische Staatsanzeiger there is the correction of his name as Ludwig Rau (not Rauch).

I think that the confusion stems, in part, from the fact that there clearly is a period (.) after the RAU on the medal.

There was a Rauch as well but his first name was Friedrich and he was awarded the civilian KFMVM
