Its not a bar only a single but a good one at that. Vanguard made Army Distinguished Service Medal Miniature. (length + 2") V-21-N is hidden on the brooch pin bar. This is possible post 1974 manufacture?.

Another Vanguard V-21-N marked miniature, Distinguished Flying Cross fixed to a 1:144 scale model of the Memphis Belle. I have this alongside another B17 and B24 Liberator on display.

That's another cool sets of miniatures. Loving your work especially the USMC reserve miniature.

Here is a closeup of the first bar. Three of the bars have reserve medals, however this one has the short-lived, early ribbon that was replaced by the ribbon we all know and still award today

    Here's a set.

Interestingly, the Navy Cross on the full size set is a "Black Widow" variety and I've seen miniatures of that variety, so I'm presuming the one here was procured after the fact.

This relates to the topic but is not a military worn miniature medal group. I purchased this about eight months ago. It is a rather tinny charm bracelet that consists of a group of World War 2 miniature medals (although they appear to be more recent in date of manufacture). Among the group is a bronze star and a POW medal. One possibility is that it was assembled by a husband for his wife to wear perhaps at American Legion or similar dinners. The other option is that it may have been assembled for wear as a fashion item and was worn by someone who had no military connection. Certainly in the 90s and 2000s, there was a popular fashion trend to wear military patches and medals as fashion statements.

This is an interesting trio consisting of a U.S Army Mexican border service medal, World War 1 Victory medal with three battle participation bars (St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, and Defensive Sector) and then a French medal with Verdun bar. There are a number of possible choices including the US 90th division, 4th Air Park part of 1st Pursuit Group (air service) and others which wore that bar combination on the victory medal. The bar has lovely age and patina.

    Louis James Connelly

During the 1890's, until just after the Spanish American War, he was a Gunner (not gunners mate) in the U.S. Navy, most notably on the USS Baltimore during the battle of Manila Bay.  He eventually rose to the rank of Captain by WWI where he served as commodore of a transport fleet. He was recalled for administrative duty during WWII making his span of service over 50 years! According to several sources, at the time of his death in 1949, he was first man in the Navy to climb the enlisted ranks and reach Captain since the Civil War. He had a single son, who was a Captain in the Air Force during WWII. Sadly his son was KIA while serving with the 5th Air Force, 8th Photo Recon Squadron in 1942.

Nice set of ribbon bars, mini medals, and a Vietnam Veterans of America challenge coin that belonged to a Navy officer who was with the Fleet Marine Force in Vietnam. No name, unfortunately.
