Stogieman
So, is it me, or has someone lost their mind? On what planet is this order worth 930 USD? I feel like I’m missing something!
Stogieman
As opposed to this little group with an imo reasonable opening bid for what it is. Ridiculous Buy It Now price, but a very nice mini group
dond
I was watching that as well. Then again, Weitze lists them without crown for 550e.
VtwinVince
The final price wasn't out of line when you consider the condition and the maker.
Stogieman
I guess I’m just seriously out of touch!
spolei
Hello, the pieces with crown are usually twice as expensive, because much rarer. 4 class swords about 20,000 awards, MVO 4th class crown and swords about 3,500 awards. This class rarely appears lately, which also drives up the price. The shown cross is a Hemmerle with silver gilded medallion. regards Andreas
Beau Newman
I'm getting to the age where I have to start thinking about where all this stuff will end up. At these prices, it's tempting to think about "thinning the herd". But, as usual, I hate to get rid of anything I haven't upgraded.
spolei
My newest entry. I've been searching for this Hemmerle with golden medaillons about ten years. regards Andreas 2 minutes ago, spolei said: Hier mein neuester Zugang, ist aber auch diese Preiskategorie. Diese Stufe mit echt goldenen Medaillons von Hemmerle suche ich schon seit 10 Jahren. Gruss Andreas Edited September 21, 2023 by spolei

VtwinVince
Nice family portrait, are those all Hemmerle pieces?
spolei
The manufacturer of the three MVO is Weiss&Co. The enamel of the right one looks awful. It should look like the left one.

It should look like the left one. Thanks for answering. The light was bad and my phone camera processed too much. Probably that’s the reason why enamel looks so awful😂. Sadly,I don’t have another pic of them right now. Enamels are basicly the same if you actually look at them.
Stogieman
Really nice medal bar sold on eBay.de for about $675.
Stogieman
Even Germany is not immune to this price frenzy! Three beautiful Albert Orders and prices realized for uncased orders. And I’ll say this, I didn’t care for how any of these looked. The swords just didn’t look right to me! Albert Knight 1, with Crown & Swords: $592 Albert Knight 1, with Swords: $403 Albert Knight 2, with Swords:$223 (actually, not a bad price)
Stogieman
Boxed set of EKs, dubious engraving imo, now at $1255!
Mike Huxley
Got to agree with you Rick. Just 2 normal EK's that somebody has had engraved and put into a dubious case and added a picture. Whoever has bid this price must be a lunatic.
Giannis S.
IMHO the engraving looks very "American". Something like from a modern jeweler.
Stogieman
This seller has a number of cased medals and orders listed on eBay, prices soaring. $380 for the Albert 2 in a rough case

So I guess $380 isn't that bad if you take 22 years of inflation into account?
Stogieman
Over $500 now and I think the case is actually for a first class. The lettering is really worn off but that looks like a one to me
VtwinVince
You're right Rick, the case is for an AO1, and I'm not convinced about the medal either. And everything about that EK set is fake, wrong and annoying.
Dave Danner
Now you all had me wondering who made my only BMV4XKr. I think it is a Hemmerle, but my eyes fail me.
