    1. Thats not to sniff at either! The Young mans and old mans versions right there! I wonder if there are more complicated ones like WW1 EK2 with clasp and WW2 EK1 and RK...
    2. Hi, possibly, but I dont think it is Military issue. You are sure it is Pvt Kemp's... with a bit of luck it could have been general Kemps!!! He was not far from there at the time! Are you home at the moment??
    3. I think i have nailed it... the only time his unit and British Glider troups came into contact... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Fustian
    4. So, The FP Number on the second doc is 6. Kompanie Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1 in may 1941.... The plastic AAC British badge is a latter half of the war one. So, if we assume he was at Crete, in the Med, then it is still unclear where he was when wounded to land in Munich in hospital in 43... I think Russia if he was with the same unit? Where could he have got a British Glider badge as souvenier? I think Italy... or france? But if he was in the Med area, that more or less explains the wallet....
    5. Raritätensammlerclub is a well known name :-) What I dont understand... the Oberland guys got the regular eagle... I have no doubt these were given out... but why, if the person already had the Silesian eagle? Why is there no mention of Oberland on the medal?
    6. Anyone on their seat edges waiting for the new Imperial EK book in German??
    7. That is very, very nice indeed!! I imagine Meybauer made, and Pfeiffer sold... as there was no enamle on this he could whack his name on without damaging anything...
    8. Do you think this is for the regular Silesian Eagle 2nd class, or for the Oberland Silesian award? All the best Chris
    9. 2 Things... A couple of old threads merged into this one, so take a moment to go back and see what has been added... Secondly... here is a nice doc... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/56727-sturmbataillon-teja-freikorps-oberland/
    10. Guys, take the time to go back to the first 3 pages, I added an old Godet thread that has its place here as well...
    11. A Question .... I have a tunic from a Hohenzollern winner... Would he have had the swords and crown on his button ribbon ?
    12. Just to add what I have found out since this was first posted... One of "My Guys" was awarded the Silver Bravery in mid 1916..... and only got an EK2 in 1918! Very possible indeed... but probably unusual... http://www.kaiserscross.com/40047/46301.html
    13. Here is a secret tip for Bavarian fans.... Go back and read the first 3 pages of this thread... I merged an OOOOOl 2005 thread into it and there are some nice goodies here for the first time....
    14. Ha ha.... Alex... you old optimist! I WISH I had a fundus of German Naval aviation... methinks it is one of those areas where you seldom have something just laying about ;-) But I do like the badges you have posted!!
    15. Did the Navy use "Funker" as a rank? Or was it simply a function? I would imagine Kriegsmarine docs would always have a rank, and civilian a function...
    16. We often fob such things off as "Civvie wear" but I knew a DKiG winner who told me that when on leave the Military police used to control Wehrpasses of soldiers in Civilian clothes, and they would get into trouble for not wearing minis. I dont know if it was regulations, or just police whim...
