    1. A Siamese Household Medal awarded to a German, probably during a State visit by the King in 1907. The bar was probably assembled in 1913/14 when the new Long Service medals were implemented. Since the bar was never updated to reflect war service in 1914/18 I assume the owner must have died during the war.
    2. Better to look at a couple of dealer sites to get an idea of current pricing.
    3. Thanks for the reply. I once had an Austrian bar made by the Austrian faker. It had several fake medals on it including a KK Signum Laudis in silver.
    4. I too doubt it is military related but the people whom know how to read this will be around here.
    5. I found this crystal stein with a silver lid at a garage sale. It is dated 1904 and has 2-3 names around the lid. I'm having trouble reading it all due to wear and abbreviations. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    6. I concur. A recent fake at that. Ebay is loaded with them.
    7. I wasn't doubting the attribution, just noting the differences.
    8. The bar in the old photo is significantly different the the medal bar shown.
    9. An excellent book. I am currently enjoying my copy.
    10. You will never be able to prove it was used as a KC.
    11. Beautiful grouping. Hopefully it stays together another 100 years.
    12. Besides the issued pieces (7 or 8 if memory serves me correctly) their were pieces for patriotic displays across Germany.
    13. Correct. That coin was made for those serving in A-stan.

I think you have to separate Turkish made and awarded pieces from the European made/awarded pieces. Your average Turkish soldier undoubtedly got a painted, Turkish made star. The European troops which received the award probably obtained one from European sources, ie BB&Co, perhaps commissioned by the Turks for issue to foreign troops.
    15. Let's see the whole cross in the original post. Perhaps then a maker can be determined.
    16. It is a sad day for the Imperial collecting community. Chip was always ready to help a fellow collector. He will be missed.
