    1. Well, it's not what i thought it was-but it's still a great old piece.
    2. Have you tried the Daughters of texas? They have extensive 1836-37 records. That's a real find.
    3. Nice haul! Interesting little bar. It's not a fake. That the unofficial interallied war medal for WW1. Somebody who got a BWM and then a US WW2 victory medal? Perhaps a second bar- OR.....?
    4. The Kyfserbund is still around. they held meetings annually in the later 1940s-present. my guess is that this is from one of them in the late 1940s-early 1950s. Why would anyone 'create" something so common and inexpensive? Most fakers are trying to generate as much cash as they can and this badge has been made "cheaper" by removing the offensive icon.
    5. Doesn't this (top) bar date from @ 1919-1921? Would that explain the absence of other campaign/commemorative medals?
    6. Those are VERY interesting swords, ESPECIALLY the top one. Can you show us close up photographs of it (it's a "mamaluke" styled saber)?
    7. ...and note the banned Alfons badge. Makes one wonder if it was photoshopped to fuzz the swaz.
    8. as usual- outstanding photos. That forestry official is quite something. I wonder if professional foresters counted as "in uniform" for the Hk? I doubt it, yet one does see forestry officials with noncom HKs a lot.
    9. No- I am looking through my books as I type. Most of my stuff ends @ 1927. However, I know a guy who has a comprehensive UK silversmiths' Index. I'll call him in a few hours (time zone difference means it's 5am there).
    10. Anchor!!! I thought it was a thistle. Right you are- 1929-1930. .925 silver. Great piece!
    11. waaay cool. So, we know that the 28xx series was handed out @ 1958/59. If other docs turn up in sequence we an confirm that fact.
    12. Wow! Nice catch. I'd love to have interviewed him. He was in a long time only to get a KvkX. Odd that his LS medals aren't listed.
    13. Well, I assumed it was as it says "Ungarn" on the back. It's a DDR stock photo from the games. The other pins are sports pins.
    14. Ok: You lost me on that last post. List? Masons? Which medal?
    15. The 'Raritatensammlerclub" is a German dealer on eBay notorious for taking original bars and "improving" them by doing such things as stripping medals, adding (new) bars and oak leaves and such things. He has a variety of web names and some of the forum members have bought from him and others-accidentally sold their bars, which are swiftly destroyed. Do a forum search on "the club" and you will see. The bars are presently faked. There was an article in the BDOS journal about this a while back.
    16. Yes, and judging by what happens with "the club", the bars are still produced today.

What was the Liberation decoration given for?
    18. Interesting UK .925 silver marks too- I can not figure out who made this badge and where-
    19. Photo #1 is outstanding!!!! I think they might be Labour Battalions, but don't know. Have you tried trenches on the web? They would LOVE that photograph (1915?).
    20. Nice design. Is it for UN service?
    21. call him! Call him!! What is razboi"?
    22. So the badge number matched the carrying document? ..........very, very interesting! Now if we can just find a master list of carrying docs used for verification. By the photo I reckon this is @ 1950-1965? Great piece! What number is your badge?
    23. Khartoum Star?! As in Gordon's medal? Who was this man and what was his career/life? This is a fascinating photograph.
